[The video post actually starts off with a kitten walking over the top of it, soft muffled talking with the heavy padding of paws over-foot for a moment, and then a "hey, hey, not right now." It's finally adjusted so Anakin can talk into the MID properly. He's still tired; those circles under his eyes aren't likely to go away any time soon, but it's countered with a small almost-smile. Not sad, not perfect, but present.]
Look, I know with everything the ship's been through in the last week, time is short and expensive. I'll try to keep this brief. With the recent mishandling of hostile situations on-board and with "relations" with our...host planets?
Obi-Wan, what would you even call them?
[As he's here and has ears and common sense, Kenobi is quick to take hold of Anakin's MID and address the network himself, although he's merely... correcting Anakin's word choices, anyway.]
Well, first, I wouldn't say it was mishandled. Nor would I call what came of that as relations. Otherwise, host planet seems just fine.
[Leave it to Kenobi to be pedantic. He smiles thinly into the camera and then disappears back off-screen for for the time being, leaving Skywalker to his pitch.
Anakin rolls his eyes as he takes the camera back.]
Anyway, we've both been thinking. All of you have, at some point or another, expressed pointed interest in what it is we do, and we think it's high time to take advantage of that.
[A pause as he carefully defers back to Obi-Wan. This is skirting new territory that he's not even sure how to press forward with, only that he can't do it alone.]
I think what Anakin is suggesting is that we make good use of our time here. There's no end in sight, so this is the perfect time to take stock in what we know and give credence to what we don't. In this case, the more the merrier.
[It's enough to cover the breadth of what they talked about, and therefore Kenobi feels satisfied in leaving the rest of this in Anakin's hand. Kitten now in tow, he disappears off-screen once more.]
I want to be clear that this isn't an obligation. [Not yet.] I'm--We are not asking you to give anything up, regardless of how the old Order did it. All I'm asking is that you want to help.
[ooc note: being on this filter is no obligation to reply; if you want on the ~Jedi Training~ filter and you're not, let's get that CR rolling otherwise.]

But if you think whatever this is matters more than everything and everyone else here, maybe there is nothing left to talk about.

All you had to do was send this to the same people without adding my name. It's that simple.

and hmm, where does she get that?), but he blessedly bites it back, and thank the stars she can't see him do it. It's forced and ugly and plain in effort and intent. He hates this. He hates this more than he's ever hated anything, and the scope of it is horrifying. The circumstance, himself, the Jedi for helping encourage it, Palpatine for being exactly the kind of man he didn't seem like he was, the future, her son for saying anything, and himself again for even resenting the fact in the first place.
But his horror and humility in the face of it, none of it matters. It's a defeat before the problem has ever been laid bare in its entirely, a condemnation without trial, a storm in the face of which there is no forgiveness. He'd been an idiot for even beginning to think any of it would pass.
She wants him gone--he knows that too--and he'd give it to her willingly. On a platter, on display, out the airlock, however she wanted it. But there's the responsibility he can't shake. The oaths he has sworn, those he hasn't broken yet. I'm sorry, he thinks, when he can't give her what she wants. Not really. He can't bear to see anyone hurt, let alone anyone he cares about, and yet...
This self-annihilation has gotten them both as far as it hasn't. Nothing has changed. Damning, when so much still needs to see it through.]
By your leave, Senator.
[It's not a concession. Not enough of one, not as much as he wants to be able to give. But this isn't over yet. And he thinks he might not be the only one aware of it.]
