Look, I still want to go for peace on this. I don't want to attack these people, they have lost a whole fucking world of shit already. So I am going to ask for something.

I want a story from your past. Something I can share, something that makes you you. Stories were important to them. Past experiences were important to them. It shouldn't give away anything on the ship, just something that is important to the past. Your past. If there is art you can do, a particular talent, something that is creative, give me this. A picture. A recording.

If you're not interested in avoiding a fight, just go do whatever. Lick on a gun barrel for twenty minutes. Warning, they taste bad. But for the ones that want to try? Do me this favor. Avoiding a repeat of Cadacus Primary is why I asked for this job in the first place.

Inspirational doesn't matter so much. Just stories that are important to someone. That make them a part of their world.

I do not expect anyone to find empathy with us, but to know that somehow we make an impact.

I know you likely don't want to hear this, but I admire you for wanting to get the stories of other people. For coming up with the idea to tell them.

Someone's story will have to get through to them, if they value the impact life can make on the universe at large.

At least I got some good stories to take with me, ah? Not exactly happy ones in all cases but that is the universe I guess. Both types.

I think my favorite type of story is funny anyway. Those can be good or bad.

But ah... So this guy, the one with the box. This is the guy you're waiting for, right? Why you need me to keep an eye out in the Cargo Bay.

Oh, a blue box turned up.

[And from her tone of voice, it isn't a good thing. At all.]

Not the right one, but it's a start to finding the Doctor. Who...is most definitely the idiot alien I'm waiting for. He can't ever manage to be timely, despite his blue box being a time machine.

Shit. What was wrong with that blue box?

[And is it something that might give him hell in the Cargo Bay, because if so he's going to throw his hands over his head and storm out and give that job to someone else.]

[And at this rate, he's been on these ships enough that "time machine" seems as normal as anything else.] What kind of alien? [He assumes that he'd be recognizably not human, which he should know better than that at this point.]

It just wasn't the right one.

[She laughs a little, because she hadn't meant to make him worry.]

I wanted a time machine, but the Ingress gave me an actual blue box. Like it's mocking me.

[Oh wait, he had asked her something. She bites at her lip, trying to control her ranting.]

And the Doctor's a pretty dull alien, honestly. You can't even tell he's not human.
