[ Looks like the Ingress has been particularly cruel this month. He'd found a few things that had been inside his locker during Project Freelancer inside his mailbox this morning which had set off a series of complicated emotions and very efficiently put him in a horrible mood for the day. Now it looks like Tex got a red-headed doll that reminds him all too much of one dead Freelancer and brings to mind memories of a red-headed child with Allison and--

Well. He cuts himself off there and manages to find some amount of bitter amusement in this. Maybe partly because he's glad he's not the only one being fucked with like this.

His sour mood is what inspires him to go against Tex's demand that he not talk to her anymore, deciding that he can't let this go without some kind of comment. ]

[ It's occurred to her that this is some sick commentary on what happened with Carolina, but she didn't want to acknowledge it. But it's the only thing she can think about now. Damn that Washington. ]

[ It's not fair to take out any of his anger on Tex, especially not the anger caused by the emotions and memories she triggers, and Wash is aware of that on some level. But the vast majority of him is just angry and prepared to drag anyone down with him.

And he happens to have inside information on the buttons to push with Texas. ]

[ Mainly because she doesn't think there's anyone back in her world pulling strings to make uncomfortable things happen. It's just an unfortunate, unhappy coincidence that the doll looks like Carolina might have as a child. ]

Then it's probably someone's idea of a bad joke. Maybe there's a little girl you can give it to.

[Karen hasn't noticed a lot of children on board, but she has spoken to a few younger people.]

We've decided to space the doll, actually. Put it right out the airlock.

No. Unless it's April Fools day or Halloween. That's the only time it's necessary to put it anywhere other than a deep, dark hole.

Let's make an event of it, then. Nobody wants it around. I certainly don't.

[ She's a bit torn on it actually, though she's not going to say so. If this doll was sent to her purposely to symbolize Carolina, then she's not sure what it would say to send it out into space. ]

Maybe we can hide it in random places? Sort of a running game to see who finds it. And if you do find it, it's your turn to hide it somewhere new?

[ If Charlie knew who Carolina was, she'd be less inclined to start a prank war with a creepy doll. ]
