[Looking a bit worn thin, Tarn’s demeanor is worlds different from the last time that he made an appearance on the network. Today he has nothing to say about Megatron, or even the Decepticons (surprisingly enough).
No, he is here for much more mundane reasons.]
I am in search of recommendations for new reading material. My main interests tend to lie in the realm of nonfiction and manifestos, but I am also open to fictional literature on occasion.
[Tarn holds up a comically tiny book on dinosaurs that he has thoroughly demolished.]
Thus far, I have read this encyclopedia about “dinosaurs” and I find myself in need of further distraction. Perhaps something a bit more hefty than what seems to be the most rudimentary encyclopedia ever created.
[It has taken a lot of building up for Tarn to stoop to asking the crew for suggestions. He could continue to pour over the same Decepticon literature, but he craves something new.]

It's not a book, but books are boring so this is way better.
Re: video
[Tarn looks skeptical, choosing to ignore his unwarranted slam on books.]
Re: video
I should bring my collection over and we can watch it together. Usually I'd invite other people to watch, but I don't think anyone really wants to be around you. You really should focus on making friends sometime.

Well I'm not going to lend you any of my books if you treat them like that.

[Let alone when your fingers are as sharp as his]
It may have taken a little while but I seem to have figured it out. Truly, I don't know why datapads are not more widely spread-- they are much more difficult to rip.

[Hm.]
What about manifestos you'd disagree with?

It won't do to argue against something If I can't properly articulate what it is that I dislike about it.

[Like hell he's loaning out his copy, though.]
When I'm looking for things to read, I usually just sort of stay in the library poking through things until I find something interesting. Usually nonfiction subjects are supposed to be grouped together, so if you find one you like you should find others nearby.
Re: video
I don't suppose that the Library is large enough to fit a Cybertronian of my stature, is it?
[that would certainly make this process much easier]

If worse, comes to worse you could always see if anyone that runs the library are willing to copy the books into a digital format so you don't have to deal with small physical copies.
Or put in a petition that the library be able to meet the needs of those who are not typically organic or human shape.

[as for recommendations...]
How did you... get that book?
Re: video
I hardly think that is true.
[He lifts the tattered dinosaur book to give it second glance.]
The gem, Peridot, suggested it to me. She seems to be fond of these dinosaur creatures.

[Guess who stocked up on romance novels while on Amissis-Re.]

But, it's the casual mention digital format that really catches Tarn's ear. After wrestling with the tiny, thin, paper pages of the dinosaur encyclopedia, he is desperate for an alternative method of reading.]
Are they entertaining at the very least?
[He sounds like he's really straining.]

But J isn't a book person and is about to close her MID and move on but then the word "manifesto" pings her. Oh, she knows exactly what to recommend.]
fifty shades of grey. a true cultural treasure from the Earth. you can find the whole series from library
Text
[Fifty shades of grey... The title itself holds all of the weight of cultural manifesto that Tarn can get behind. He envisions stony metaphors of working class life and martyrdom.
Perhaps a bit dryly written and obsolete due to its human background, but definitely worth a read for intellectual purposes.]
I don't suppose that there is any way that I might convince you to retrieve them for me?
