[Luke sighs, but he can't help smiling.] I guess I'm going to have to, won't I? [Even though the answer to his questions could revolutionize the holotech in his home galaxy, he can't exactly ask people who just don't know the answer.]
[Still.] Can you turn into anything? Or just humans?
[Luke laughs softly.] It seems handy. I know I wouldn't mind access to that kind of technology back home. [Luke thinks about the applications for just a moment, and,] You can see without a clear line of sight. I'd hate to run into one of your spies.
[Luke scratches his head.] Neither was I. It's probably a coincidence anyway. [Language, Luke has learned, is rarely simple.]
[Finally, Luke's natural curiosity kicks in.] Can I see the, uh, 'glass ants'? [That's what they're called, right? Look, Luke's memory has never been great when it comes to thinks he doesn't consider of the utmost importance or interest. Is it a speeder? Is it the Force? If not, whatever.]
[the holoform winks out abruptly, and the actual door to the room opens a couple seconds later. there's riptide, grinning like a school child. massive scar on the chest and all.
[Luke stares at the outstretched hand, obviously curious, but also hesitant. This seems like a breach in form, like how you're not supposed to pet bothans.] Do- do you want me to...? Climb on?
Hey! [But Luke's laughing. He likes going fast, and being high up; this is a delightful combination of both. It's not long before he's scampering along the surface of Riptide's palm, trying to get a better look at, well, everything.]
[Luke looks over at Riptide with a daring expression.] You'd catch me. [He considers the distance. He'd probably be fine, if he jumped... he'll save that surprise for later.] Where are we going?
No. They belonged to one of my friends who disappeared recently. He liked them a lot and they made him happy so I'm gonna keep them in case he comes back.
[it only takes him a couple of steps to get to the desk, where he lowers his hand.]

[riptide has been lucky enough to never meet one, though.]
I think the Decepticons usually just straight up took over planets. Spying doesn't really work for them.

I wasn't around for the beginning of the war. You'd have to ask Megatron why he chose that name. I, uh. Wasn't very good at history.

[But anyway, he knows that isn't what Riptide means. He climbs into his palm as requested.]

It all looks so different up here!

[riptide carefully walks around the junk in his room to the desk, not wanting to jerk luke too much. especially if he's running around his hand.]
Don't fall.

[don't do this to him luke his spark can only take so much.]
To the desk. To see the ants. Because they're not made of glass, which is upsetting because that would be super cool.

[Luke says, clearly distracted by the height. He keeps peering as far as he can over the edge of Riptide's hand.]
