[The message is posted to the network late in the ship’s night cycle, when most of the ship is already asleep. The video feed shows Zam in their male form, face shadowed as if in the dark. His voice is uncharacteristically weary, though the anger beneath it is hard to miss.]

Aren’t you getting tired of this little game? I know you’re here. And you know who I am. [Zam’s face changes fluidly as they speak, changing between several forms before settling once again. It hasn’t mattered which face they’ve taken over the past few days. Jango always seems to find them.]

There’s no point in wasting any more time. You want to kill me, then do it. [Zam doesn’t sound afraid. Just spiteful.] It’ll be just you and me. No Jedi. No Tex. And we’ll see which one of us walks away.

Everyone else, don’t get in the way. This doesn’t involve any of you. Just stay in your rooms and… [Eyes dart towards something offscreen. Zam stares, shakes his head, and mutters the next words.] This will be over soon enough.

[The camera drops and then cuts out, but not before catching a glimpse of what seems to be a transporter in the background...]

[Zam feels some relief, but not as much as he was expecting. It’s like after Rinzler had knocked him out, something had pushed him away from being certain of Jango’s presence, to unsure, to doubtful.]

[Zam really wants to bite back with some sarcastic one-liner, but the truth is… he had seen someone who wasn’t there. And he had believed so strongly that it was real that he’d almost killed someone for it. He sighs and types two letters.]

[ Well, at least they're both on the same page and there's no lies passing between them. That feels... positive. Strangely uplifting considering the state of their relationship not all that long ago. ]

[Maybe they’re not easily accessible for most people, but it’s certainly easier for a shapeshifter than beings with more static forms. But come to think of it, it isn’t exactly the accessibility of the vents that could prove the biggest problem...]

[ Obi-Wan feels his good intentions becoming very slim in substance and he sighs to himself before responding. ]

[Obi-wan can’t hear the noise of frustration Zam makes, but he makes it anyway.]

If you can’t help, I’m going back to sleep and figuring this out later. [Zam is 100% serious, too. He has not slept in almost a week and this conversation is already draining enough without the prospect of crawling randomly through the vents until he finds his way out.]
