[After everything that had just transpired planet-side Steve figured this was long over due.
He called up a video on his MID and started recording.]
Hi, this is Steve Rogers. Some of you might know my name, some of you might know me as Captain America, most of you probably have never heard of either of those things. Back home I was a captain in my country’s army, fought in a war.
Currently I lead a team of people called The Avengers, we’re a group of super powered people who help protect the world from larger threats that can’t be fought alone.
[He pauses there because he sounds like a brochure. Back home he had earned the respect of the people who knew him, here not many knew him yet, and he was second guessing if this had been a good idea. He keeps going though, not letting his insecurities show through, he wanted people to be able to trust him.]
My point to this. The job I've been assigned is the head of training and defense and after what just happened planet side I think that there are some people who could use a course in hand to hand combat and some people who might want to hone the skills they already have. I'm going to put together a schedule and set up training classes. There will be an initial evaluation and from that I will split the classes up into group based in ability and current skill. I urge anyone interested to come down to the rec area or contact me.
I'm also looking for anyone interested in assisting me. Most of my knowledge and skill is with hand to hand combat with the assistance of a shield, which seems to have been lost in transit, but there are situations were weapons training would be more useful. If anyone has experience with that please let me know if you would be interested in assisting other crew members in training.
We might as well be ready for any kind of threat we could face. Our best bet at survival is being prepared for anything.
Oh, and Avengers, current, future and alternate universe versions, I expect you all there. Yes that means you, Tony...my Tony. I mean the Tony from my world. And- ok both Tony Starks.[Mentally face palming Steve.]
Thank you for your time. [He nods at the screen, hoping that went ok before cutting the video feed.]
[ooc: I will be putting together a list of classes and times that you will be able to sign your character up for oocly for future reference any logs you want to do with fellow players. A link to that will be up in the ooc com soon.]

Oh, I'm your Tony now, am I? Well, okay honeybunch. But you could at least buy me dinner first. I thought you old timey folk were supposed to have proper dating etiquette. [He rolls his eyes.]
Sorry there, Stevie dear. But I've got a uh... thing. So I'll be missing our little wrestling session. You know how ship engines go. Very needy things. Require lots of maintenance and the right touch. Raincheck. [He winks. Oh, he's not letting this one go, Steve. Not for a long while.]
video
Well I'm not going to call you Tony one and Tony two. But I mean, if you wanted dinner all you had to do was ask. Would you also like me to take you dancing first? Is that proper enough for you? [Two could play at this game, Tony.]
Uh huh, if I didn't know better I would think you're trying to get out of this, but that can't be right. [He smirks. He'll get you to come around, Tony.]

[Stevie, you are not going to win this game of flirting chicken. Tony doesn't swerve. And he's fully aware of that blush. This may just become his new goal in life: how many times can he make you blush?]
Well then it's a good thing you know better. I would never do anything to deliberately get out of being turned into a living punching bag for a 97 year old American icon of the pinnacle of health and physical perfection. Who would ever do something so ridiculous.
[The sarcasm is strong with this one.]

I am also proficient in fighting unarmed.

audio;
[He's only half paying attention if the audio is any indication. Too much going on to spend time showing his face?]
I've got some other obligations, but I trust you to take care of us.
Audio
[ He's raising his eyebrow curiously even though Tony can't see it. He thought he would at least get one Stark down there. ]
Oh. Well. I mean- if you can get away and drop by I'd- I could use the assistance.
Audio
[Okay, so he is paying attention. There's a little hesitation in his response now. He's considering his answer, and maybe suffering a little bit of guilt because he disappointed Steve. He doesn't need to hear it to know that he has.]
Well, I- I don't know how much help I'd be. I'm not the expert.
[But he does have training. The honest part of him chimes in and makes him feel bad for all the excuses. Is it because this is another Steve Rogers? Because he's not the one Steve is really asking for.]
I guess I could drop by, if you really think it would help.
[Granted, he's not usually one to volunteer to make work for himself, but it would be nice to be the one not on the receiving end of a bantos rod for once.]
I'm also not half bad with a gun.
Bantos Rods? I have a feeling I'm going to regret this but, what are bantos rods?
[ As for the fight training - well. He doesn't think he needs to worry about that. ]
[Obviously it was more than an alien invasion, but thats when they really came together as a team so thats what Steve is sticking with.]
Is that how you found each other? Super-powered people aren't exactly... common where I'm from.
I'll be down in the rec area during afternoon shift every day, if you have time to drop by. If not we can work something else out.

[Okay, so he was an honorary member of the Young Avengers, and he'd left, but it counted, right?
Especially if he can fluster people with the information.]
I'm proficient with most melee weapons. Perhaps not to my brother's standards, but good enough for most things. Still, I don't think there'll be too many swords around here until someone finds me a forge and a supply of metal, so it's not a terribly useful skill to teach even if people were willing to trust me with it.
no subject
Technically? How technically?
[ That would teach him to say things without learning who was actually an Avenger in their respective worlds. ]
I don't know, a weapon is a weapon. Don't discount it. Its still a good skill to have. If you wanted to teach it I'm sure some people would want to learn it.
[He's not entirely sure why he's encouraging this except for the fact that he's Steve, and he doesn't...well he doesn't distrust this Loki. Not that he trusts him either. ]
What happened on the planet?
Re: [video]
He was hoping he could at least get some of the members of the team working together again. ]
Thank you, Wanda. I'd like to see what you can do.
The natives became hostile and took hostages, everyone made it back but there was fighting. I'm hoping we can prevent some people being captured or injured if this happens again.
I think I can help with that, if enough of them wanted to hurt us. Surface thoughts are easier to read.

[Matt Murdock is never going to show up to any of these, but Daredevil might depending on how this goes.]

Re: Text
That would be helpful. I'd like to see you fight first, if thats ok with you? Just so I know what level of hand-to-hand combat we are dealing with.
What kind of unique weapons?
Re: Text
audio;
[ He's not enough at ease with anyone here yet to actually do any sparring. ]
Re: audio;
Of course. I could use someone observing and letting me know what you think.
[Steve doesn't expect Bruce to join in, at least not for a while if ever. But observing is good.]
no subject
Alright, I can do that. I'm good at observing, so... who knows, maybe I can help a little.
[ If nothing else, then at least it might count as team bonding. ]
Audio
Are these sessions mandatory? No one said we would have to be fighting anything. What happened on the last planet?!
Re: Audio
The native population got hostile while we were still docked there.
Re: Audio
Oh, good. It's a great resource to have, I'm sure it'll be really helpful to the ship.
[He may have no intention of showing up, but that didn't mean it wasn't a good idea.]
How hostile were they, was anyone killed?
no subject
[There's some complicated reasons to that, but he will wishfully hope that he can practice quietly on his own where no one will see him. For now, anyway.]
I became a soldier when I was a child and I have never went more than a month without fighting. I have already learned a lot about fighting things bigger and stronger than me.
no subject
[Steve isn't sure what to think- becoming a soldier as a child, then again looking back he felt like a child when he joined the war.]
Where do you come from? If you don't mind me asking?
[He's not sure he'd gotten the full story from his roomate. ]
no subject
It's a good idea to know how to fight, so I hope you do okay.
[Even if he's hesitant to do it himself. It's a discussion that he's not yet managed to have- any normal person would want to avoid fighting out of weariness of conflict. There is some of that, most definitely. But half of Niko's reason is that he might remember sometimes he enjoys it, and he doesn't want to think about that.]
[Especially when someone comes from wars as nasty as the Yugoslav wars.]
