Ahab's not here. Ocelot assumes he went home... hope so. Says DD couldn't find him.
But there's something else. I keep noticing things. [His voice is gruff, almost angry. Festering because it keeps happening and he can't do shit about it.] Have you seen someone else? Wide hat? Skin burned, grey? Makes him look a little like a skull. I've heard him, I'm pretty sure. This deep voice, sounds like a smooth talker.
But every time I hear it, I can't catch up with him.
Or- or fog, mist...? In some places? Or is that just for me? Someone else must have saw something.
[He can't be sure with all the things he's seeing. But they can't all just be in his head...] Just tell me if anyone sees anything unusual.

[This raises some questions, although Liquid's not asking them yet. If people could go home, for good... what's this whole trip for?]
You're talking about Skull Face, right? I was going to say I thought Tretij and I had smashed him, but then again, it's not like people don't come here unscathed. But I don't remember seeing him here at all, and he is rather distinctive from what I recall. Mostly through what Tretij showed me.
I'll keep an eye out, but that sounds particularly odd. Eat anything strange lately?
Re: audio
Ahab and I... We made sure he was in the same position his parasite unit had put me in. [Alone without two of his limbs, abandoned, forgotten, and suffering.]
But that wasn't what killed him, either. It was Huey Emmerich. Too good a death if you ask me. Too easy. [He deserved to live a lifetime with that suffering, or the shame of having to make his own escape.] And if he's here? In perfect condition?
Re: audio
[Liquid sounds a little disappointed that it didn't kill him. Sure, Venom had been their main target, but Tretij certainly had plenty of reason to kill Skull Face and Liquid had been glad to help him indulge. But, he supposed, a bit of retribution in another way was fine enough.]
Emmerich? Really? I have to say, I like your plan better. A shame.
If he's here in perfect condition, then he's really good at staying under the radar. Surely someone would have noticed him on the directory or something, wouldn't they?
Re: audio
You would think, but there's nothing. No name. No one on the MID. I've not heard anyone report anything.
But the dog growls sometimes when I hear him. She won't go near some places. I don't know why, but it doesn't feel like this is just in my head. There's more to it than that.
He has to be doing something.
Re: audio
I've heard of animals being sensitive to ghosts and the like. I suppose potentially he could have come here that way, and she's noticing something off.
That still raises a lot of questions, though.
When did you start noticing him?
no subject
It was the night of my birthday, something odd happened.
But then again that might be because I actually drank. [He's both trying to justify his paranoia and invalidate it. He's angry at Cipher. Nothing like reliving bits and pieces of the things done to him. But also he doesn't want this. He wants to be away from them, from the things they did to him. To all of them.]
[It can't be real. But what if it is?]
no subject
[He's not exactly sure how to interpret any of this. Hallucinations seem likely, but if Mama's seeing things...
This isn't exactly his area of expertise. Even if he was technically a ghost before he came here, he hasn't done much in the way of haunting. Not in the traditional sense, anyway.]
Have you tried interacting with anything? Talking to him? Starting a fight?
no subject
Normally I wouldn't say a fight would be a good idea. But if it was actually Skull Face...
[Come to think of it, he wouldn't even kill him. He'd leave him alive, but battered. In pain. He would make him suffer.]
no subject
[Liquid, no.]
So it's always just out of reach, then, whatever it is?
That kind of sounds like a good benchmark for hallucinations, but that doesn't explain Mama seeing things as well. Shared hallucinations? But who shares hallucinations with a dog?
[He's thinking, he's thinking.]
no subject
[Or something.]
no subject
[If he was doing the haunting, he'd do it differently.]
Try talking to it. Or have someone with you.

[The last thing Kaz remembered before darkness was hands on his shoulders, from behind him. The wall of the vet's office in front of him, and Eggsy's back turned. He thinks Mama snarled, but he's not sure. All he knows is he was slammed back, and lost consciousness.]
[When he woke up he was in Med Bay. Just bruises, really. But it touched him. His shoulders... he can still feel it. Even in the one half covered with metal... fingers lingering there. It's making his skin crawl. He pulls up a blanket over him in the half formed worry something might reach up from under the bed and grab his hand or his feet. A ridiculous fear, but he can't shake it. Skull Face must have found some new parasite, something he could use here.]
[It had to be something. Invisibility that could even get by him.]
[He's feeling better. Most of the damage has been repaired, so he bothers to sit up. He'll leave soon, as soon as he gets the all clear.]
no subject
So much for the surprise [ It's grumbled when Bucky comes through the door with one of Mama's babies. He's a pretty red that looks just like her held securely in his arms. ] So. In the hospital, huh?
[ Yep, do fill him in right now. ]
no subject
[He sits up in the bed, reaching out to pet the pup.] Looks like they're doing okay. How are Ishmael and Ocelot.
[He seems set on finding that out first. Before any explanations or anything. He's not seen Ocelot since he got in here.]
no subject
And the other old men are fine. Don't worry about 'em, worry about yourself! What happened?
no subject
You don't understand. They've been fucking with the network. At least for me. That's why I asked you to contact them. I can't do it. But you're not someone they'd target. They'd leave you alone. You don't mean anything to Cipher.
no subject
[ Bucky's concern is obvious once his expression grows pinched around his eyes. ]
Cipher...? I remember you mentioning him before. Is he on the ship?
no subject
But the thing is...
[He thumps his arm through his shirt, creating a metallic sort of thud. His generator half cups over the shoulder.] This part has no sensation even if the rest of the arm does. But I felt fingers there. Hit the wall so hard I blacked out.
Woke up in here. Never saw them get me. Mama can't stand whatever they've sent after me.
That son of a bitch called me a mother? [He is a mother though.]
no subject
[ One of his hands comes to rest on the husky pup, petting him gently as he wanders all over Miller. It gives him time to digest this new information; though, he doesn't have much to suggest. ]
Then you should keep Mama with you at all times. And someone who can keep whatever this is off you.
[ And Bucky may not have named names, but it's obvious he means himself. ]
no subject
[The little pup takes a big risk then. It makes a harrowing hop off the bed, whining a little when it lands. Miller looks after it, but it seems set on moving away from the bed.]
Hey, get back- FUCK!
[His attention is right up on his leg as hands visibly move under the blankets, sinking fingers into his artificial calf, right into thin air. Much like the dog he goes rolling off the bed and frantically starts kicking the blanket away.] It's here! It's in here!
no subject
Jesus, Kaz! Where—? [ He keeps point to the sheets. but it's hard to tell if it's simply Miller shaking the sheets. Something's moving and he has no idea where the puppy is. Either way, he quickly grabs a corner of the thin fabric and pulls it all the way off the bed and his friend. ]
no subject
What the hell? Miller?
no subject
[The worst thing is, he's already on a pain killer, just meant to take the edge off having been slammed into a wall even if it's good for nothing else, but it means his reflexes are shot. He can't get up or around as quickly as he'd like. And he's fumbling to grab something to both defend himself and keep the other man away.]
You don't get it, they're following me. They're waiting for me to lead them to what they want!
[The pup has taken up a position of safety in the corner. For all the havoc that Miller's making, it's not watching him.]
no subject
Briefly he turns his attention to Ocelot before it's back on his friend. He can't seem to get any traction or leverage, so Bucky steps him to give him a hand up under his arms. ]
The hell's the dog?
[ If they lost Buck's favorite puppy he is going to be so pissed. ]
no subject
[Ocelot moves further into the room and near a drawer. He suspects there may be something very wrong with Miller judging by the look in his eyes. This is not normal; certainly not for Kaz.]
Kaz! Calm down!
[The man looks like he's under the influence of some psychotic.]
no subject
[He's insanely adamant about it, though rightfully he can't say exactly what it is. He's just convinced it must be related to Skull Face. One of Cipher's plans. Death didn't mean all that much, here. It's not unlikely he came up with an idea.]
And it's watching us right now.
[He's hard for Bucky to hold onto. He's trying to shove away to get at the door. At least the dog announces itself, with a soft warbling bark off elsewhere.]
no subject
Where is it, Kaz?
no subject
There's nothing here! Hold him down!
[Ocelot is already grabbing a vial and a syringe from the drawer. Miller has seen Ocelot do this plenty of times. He knows what will come next if Ocelot gets that needle in him.]
no subject
[It has to be.]
Jim, it's- Ocelot you have to believe me!
no subject
[ After four years of impossible bullshit, Bucky is more than willing to take a leap of faith here. Nothing is ever too crazy. ]
no subject
And since when does an enemy have you cowering on the floor, Miller? Something has gotten to you, and I don't see anything here.
[He looks to Bucky next, mildly annoyed.]
He's gonna hurt himself flailing around like that. If there is something here, you think he can fight in that state?
And he won't be defenseless. Maybe you don't think you can protect him, but I'm not gonna let anything happen to him.
[But fighting Bucky to get to Miller isn't really a good idea, either, so he lifts his hands to show he's backing off. At least for now.]
You think you can calm him down? Do it. Or get out.
no subject
[That gets Miller moving again. A frantic, angry noise as he reaches for a drawer and hopes to god there's something in it he can use, and still on his knees.]
no subject
But they've got actual problems on their hands besides a boy's insecurities. ]
Goddamnit, you guys...
[ The last thing he wants to do is agree with Ocelot of all people, but he isn't seeing any other options. Miller is, frankly, hysterical at this point. ] Well if you're gonna do it, Kitty cat, do it. [ Not fun having your own words flung back at yah, huh? HUH?? Just come over here and shoot Miller up while he grabs his real arm and pulls it behind his back. ]
with player permission!
Were he not so busy, he'd be rather annoyed by the whole kitty cat remark, but he probably deserves it after what he said.]
You'll feel better in the morning, Kaz.
[Ocelot approaches and with Bucky's hold on Miller, He sticks the needle into the man's neck and injects the sedative.]
no subject
Wait...
[And it's over them. And it's fucking head turns around to look at him, just as his vision is blurring. Can't they hear it? Hear what it's saying?]
[Why can't they hear it?]
[He breathes out, another vocalization that's meant to be a word but is lost as exhaustion overtakes him and he goes limp in the floor.]
[That's when there's a bang on the other side of the room. The sound of a vent slamming shut loudly. And, as if he suddenly discovered the strength of a dog twenty times his size, Fury moves out of his corner to toddle towards it and bark, offended.]
audio;
[ Because she can't even count on one hand the strange things she's seen just in the last month. ]

Back home there was a group that created an attack force, the "Parasite Unit". The Skulls. Some had the power of invisibility, some armor. All of them exceptionally fast, strong too. They weren't exactly meant to speak but that doesn't mean they didn't get around that.
No one's seen any hard evidence of them, though.
[And he's so troubled by that.]
no subject
[ She doesn't doubt that that it's something if a dog is reacting, too, but there are still a lot of explanations. ]
no subject
[He hopes it's a simple explanation and not what all evidence tells him this is.]
My eyes... they're sort of fixed, but I should be able to see things that would be difficult for other people to see. Light refracting camouflage and the like. They're a sort of photosensitive that betrays the shape.
[Only not as bad as it used to be. Before he had his eyes fixed, he could barely take off his glasses.]
Haven't seen a hint of anything. And that really bothers me.

[ This is one of those times where she knows she's giving away more of herself than she usually chooses to here, but if something is out there stalking people, she wants it found. ]
Has it happened around other people?
