[ This face isn't one that has been seen over the network before. Or rather, not this version of this face. Snake has a facial structure that's nearly identical to Liquid, though their hair colors are different. He also resembles Big Boss, but he's younger and has both of his eyes.
Despite the fact that this is his first time doing this, Snake doesn't bother introducing himself. There's no preamble at all, really. He's not that diplomatic of a person on a good day, and right now he's pissed. ]
I just got out of cryo. [ He's broadcasting from his room, and despite how disoriented his awakening was, he's got a fresh uniform on and comes across as relatively put-together, save for that undercurrent of anger. ] How long was I out? What did I miss?
I know other people have been through the same thing. Did you ever have any side effects after the fact? [ He hasn't heard of such a thing, but being unconscious for any length of time is enough to make a guy paranoid. His expression is harsh and determined as he addresses the MID's camera. ] I think if the captains are going to put us in cold storage without our permission, they need to explain why.
[ With that, the feed cuts. ]

[Hey, look, a familiar face. Most likely unpleasantly so, for Snake anyway. From what can be seen in the video, Liquid's lounging in a plastic lawnchair. In his room. Good place for one. He looks amused.]
Haven't seen you up and about for a couple of weeks. I'm not really all that surprised about the lack of information. They probably didn't find that important.
video
No, he doesn't. And he also didn't want Liquid to be one of the first people he spoke to after waiting up. Despite all the time spent unconscious, suddenly Snake looks very much like he needs a long nap. ]
Yeah, it's pretty much their M.O. to tell us as little as possible. [ At this rate he might message one of them directly.
A couple weeks, though. That's not so bad. Assuming that Liquid is telling the truth, though it's not like they'd kept in the closest contact anyway. Someone like Niko will give him a straight answer. ]
Anyway, joke all you want, but it won't be so funny if it happens to you. [ In fact, Snake has seen Liquid's body in cold storage before, though at that point it had been very much dead. ]
Re: video
Of course! So easy to keep the masses compliant if they know nothing.
[Luckily, he's one of those 'privileged' people who's supposed to learn things. He's definitely filed this incident away mentally in case this sort of thing comes up again.]
If it happens to me, it happens to me, and I'll save my furious rage until then. But now? It is a bit funny.
[Hopefully he'll be less dead if that sort of thing happens.]
perma-video
This conversation isn't of much use to him if all Liquid wants to do is have a laugh at his expense. ]
Did you have anything of substance to say, or was that it?
[ Because Snake's patience for dealing with Liquid's crap is at an all-time low right now. ]
Re: perma-video
Everything I say is of substance. It's not my fault if you think otherwise.
[He shrugs, a far too dramatic action for the conversation as is. But, well, he's Liquid.]
I did inform you of how long you seem to have been out. Or is that no longer pertinent information? Would you like a weather report?
no subject
His eyes flicker with anger, his jaw tight. ] What I'd like is for you to keep your mouth shut when you talk to people about their futures.
[ Snake doubts that he needs to elaborate. Maybe some time has passed now as far as Liquid is concerned, but the fact still remains that he'd told Miller about FOXDIE, that he'd told Big Boss about his ultimate fate.
None of that is for Liquid to tell, and it's made Snake's life that much more inconvenient. Of course, that's what Liquid does best. ]
no subject
Really, brother? That's rich. And here I'd had no idea you were a comedian.
[His relaxed posture changes, shoulders squaring a bit, a small (so far) amount of hostility to his body language, like he'd be ready to fight if they were in the same room.]
Did you know, Snake, when I first met a certain someone on this ship, he knew who I was? Now why might that be?
Why might it be that he knew about Alaska?
[He doesn't elaborate, certain Snake knows exactly what he means.]
I knew you were a hypocrite, brother, but I see you've yet to change. Tell me all about keeping my mouth shut when you learn to shut yours.
no subject
Liquid could claim that he told Big Boss about who killed him for a similar reason, but Snake knows it wasn't that. He'd done it for petty reasons, and to put Snake into hot water. ]
Did the information I gave out lead to you getting tied up and interrogated?
[ He's playing his hand a little here, revealing what Big Boss had done with that information, but he doesn't care. Liquid knows their father well enough that he probably expected it.
Snake glares at Liquid over the MID's display, his expression not flickering. ] You knew what you were doing.
no subject
He doesn't seem too surprised about the interrogation, although it's not what he'd planned. Not that he'd planned anything.]
Is it my fault that our father is incapable of talking things out rationally? That's a bit... excessive, but I suppose it's par for the course.
[Not surprising in the least. He still seems amused as he looks back at Snake, despite everything.]
It came up in conversation. It wasn't like that was my end goal. I assure you, I had no ulterior motive.
[Just no filter, apparently.]
You appear to be in one piece, anyway. What's the problem?
no subject
At least it's over with now, the band-aid removed. Big Boss is going to have to learn to live with it one way or another. ]
I find it hard to believe that you didn't relish the chance to tell him all about it.
[ Snake figures that he has Liquid's number, and if there's one thing he loves, it's rubbing someone's face in something. This had the added benefit of screwing over both Big Boss and Snake at the same time. Of course he wouldn't be able to resist. ]
I think we both know that he isn't someone you underestimate. The less he knows, the better.
[ But of course, Liquid didn't think about that. Snake sighs to himself and shakes his head. ]
no subject
[But when it came up, yes, it seemed like an exciting bit of gossip to be able to give.
Not that he'd admit to that wholeheartedly anytime soon.]
Because he's not going to find out sooner or later. Do you think secrets like these are easily kept, especially from people who might like to find out? After all, who knows all you've given up? You can't implicate me and me alone.
[Sometimes, a lot of the time, he doesn't necessarily think. Of course, in hindsight he'll just decide it's all part of his master plan. Who wants to admit to making mistakes?]
So he gets a sneak peek at the future. He's not the first. Let's call it even.
no subject
He's still annoyed, though.
As much as he wants to protest, Snake can't deny that he told Miller about the circumstances of his death and the people involved, both of who are on the Moira now.
The damage is already done, the mess made, so all he can do is tighten his jaw and nod. ]
Fine.
no subject
Fine.
[And there he is, lounging in his chair again, a shiteating grin on his face, as if his posture had held no hostility before.]
Figured you'd end up seeing things my way.
[Not in the least, but he's still considering it something of a victory.]
no subject
So he goes with the calm and collected route instead. ] You keep telling yourself that. [ Act high and mighty enough, and it's bound to get under his brother's skin.
Snake ends the call before Liquid has the chance to reply. ]
