[ This face isn't one that has been seen over the network before. Or rather, not this version of this face. Snake has a facial structure that's nearly identical to Liquid, though their hair colors are different. He also resembles Big Boss, but he's younger and has both of his eyes.
Despite the fact that this is his first time doing this, Snake doesn't bother introducing himself. There's no preamble at all, really. He's not that diplomatic of a person on a good day, and right now he's pissed. ]
I just got out of cryo. [ He's broadcasting from his room, and despite how disoriented his awakening was, he's got a fresh uniform on and comes across as relatively put-together, save for that undercurrent of anger. ] How long was I out? What did I miss?
I know other people have been through the same thing. Did you ever have any side effects after the fact? [ He hasn't heard of such a thing, but being unconscious for any length of time is enough to make a guy paranoid. His expression is harsh and determined as he addresses the MID's camera. ] I think if the captains are going to put us in cold storage without our permission, they need to explain why.
[ With that, the feed cuts. ]

Re: video
[just hang up, snake.]
video
[ Snake rubs at his eyes. This is almost as bad as that skeleton. ]
Re: video
[he shrugs.]
You okay now?
perma-video
[ Snake has been wracking his brain, trying to trigger any kind of memory, but no luck so far. ]
I feel all right for now. Not sure if that's gonna change, though.
[ If there had been any side effects among the other people who have gone through cryo, he probably would have heard about it. On the other hand, maybe it was the sort of thing they'd prefer to keep secret. He isn't going to assume anything. ]
Re: perma-video
[don't make him worry about you, snakey.]
I'm sure they can spare five minutes for a check up.

Yeah, I'll drop by and see if the doc is there.
[ She doesn't seem to spend much time anywhere else. ]
So, anything happen while I was out?
[ If Riptide isn't going to leave him be, Snake may as well try to get some information out of him. ]

The last big thing was leaving Del Pascia. We'd been traveling for maybe ten days after that, en route to our next destination.
[ And then nothing until now, just one big blank. ]
no subject
[he scratches the side of his head - just under that giant obnoxious fin on the top of it.]
Think it works? I dunno. Haven't tried it yet.
no subject
If it works, where does it take people?
[ It couldn't be back to their homes, or there would be no crew left. Not to mention the captains wouldn't stand for that. ]
no subject
[shrug.]
Dunno. I was gonna give it a go later. I don't want to just jump in without seeing what's up.
no subject
[ Which doesn't look to be the case, judging by the MID's directory. ]
no subject
[riptide has other plans...]
no subject
[ A pause, and then: ] You're not that interested in going home?
no subject
[ha ha no home riptide]
no subject
[ Which also makes him wary about the whole thing. ]
no subject
Which would be.
Nnnot good.
no subject
Yeah. If I'm gonna die, I'd rather it be on my own world.

[THUMBS UP]

[ Maybe he'll change his mind and the idea of seeing some version of home will be too great, but right now he's going to stick with his healthy paranoia.
As for the depressing comment, that's just a part of talking to someone like Snake. Riptide's the one who keeps contacting him anyway. ]
no subject
[he will always contact you first to hold out hope for that one conversation that won't be horrendously depressing. suck it, snake.]
I'm gonna try it anyway. Only live once, right?
no subject
[ There's solid proof of people coming back from the dead. Snake doesn't know if that applies to giant robots, but he doesn't see why it wouldn't, since apparently they're alive in some sense.
After a pause, and because he is curious: ] Report back and let me know how it goes.
no subject
[he mock salutes. too bad riptide WON'T actually get back to snake on account of massive trauma then dying! hooray!]
no subject
Wrong. ]
Don't call me boss.
[ Sorry, Riptide, it's a Thing. ]
