//mission 6// [video/txt/action]
[For once the feed snaps on to show Venom in a calm state, not pressing the MID on by mistake. He's mastered that now. Similar to an iDroid in that regard. A thin trail of smoke blows across the screen, as he shifts into position to talk.]
Just wanted to ask if anyone wants combat or self defence training. I'm willing to teach those who want to learn.
[He thought it would be a good idea, since he didn't know what the missions the captains would send them on next. Always good to know how to fight and defend yourself, right?]
Only asking, since it might help defend ourselves against threats during missions in the future. If anyone wants to contact me I'm on the MID and currently in the training room.
[He didn't usually advertise to teach skills but why not? If he could train people up aboard the Moira, it wouldn't be that much different to Diamond Dogs. Trained crew was always a good thing in Venom's books. He inhaled his cigar and let out the smoke slowly before asking his last question.]
Just one more question. Can you actually die aboard this ship or do you go into some kind of stasis? [He's always wanted to ask that, more out of morbid curiosity.]

[She did get the power from something called the Flower-Flower Fruit.]
It is, but I'm hoping to learn how to fight better with it.
I can fight now, but it's messy and difficult.
no subject
Maybe I can help you control your limbs better? Make you have more control over your flower power.
[That was supposed to be a joke.]
no subject
Maybe it would just be best if I showed you what my problems were.
no subject
[Because that's where he is now.]
Text -> Action
[True to her word, within ten minutes Snake will see an eight year old girl cautiously make her way into the training room.]
I'm Robin. [She says, to the adult before her. Her expression is one of curiosity, although Venom might notice that she doesn't take her eyes off of him for even a moment.] Which of the Snakes are you, again? There are so many.
no subject
Hey.
[Snake got up and noticed just how young she actually was up close. He never realised she was that young but he wasn't about to judge.]
Venom Snake. You can call me Ahab. Everyone else does.
no subject
I guess I should show you how I fight with my powers then. Are you ready?
[That's just a courtesy, for the record. She's not really sure there's a way to be ready for what she's about to do.]
no subject
Go for it.

Not the growth of the limbs - that's a sensation exclusive to Robin alone - but he will feel a sudden, forceful pressure on the backs of his knees as several of her arms (growing out of his own legs - his own body mass most certainly counts as a surface they can grow off of) slam into them at once, in the hope of to knock him forward and onto the ground.
At the same time, he'll feel a half-dozen hands on either arm - gripping onto them and pulling them close to their source, his own torso. Individually, they aren't that strong, but their combined efforts are similar to what one might expect from a fairly strong adult.
Lastly, he'll feel the distinct sensation of a couple of hands resting on his throat - although no pressure is applied. She doesn't actually want to choke him or anything, just let him know that that's what she usually does when someone fights her.
This all happens over the course of about 3 seconds. This is her fight strategy - his as hard as she can, as fast as she can, and from multiple directions, to prevent the fight from getting to a place where she has to take a hit.]

Then, he felt the hands on his throat. He swallowed but remained calm. He knew she could probably choke him right here and now if she wanted but she didn't. Ahab breathed as normally as he could whilst feeling her power all over his body. She was certainly not someone to mess with.]
Damn. Never thought it would feel like that. How long have you had these powers?
no subject
I got them from eating a devil fruit when I was little.
[Yup, a fruit. That's where all this power came from.]
So I've had them for a while. I only ever had to use them to fight for the last couple of months, though. [Which... She doesn't really talk about the reasons for.]
My powers are good for holding people down, and I can use it t break peoples' necks. I have a couple of other tricks too, but they all get pretty messy.
I don't want to have to kill people, though, just to beat them. Not if it's not my choice.
no subject
Good tactics. I use CQC to snap enemies' necks and disable them with my arms. [He nodded. It was easy to understand where she was coming from when she said she didn't want to kill people. Ahab didn't intend to kill people only unless lethal force was the only other option available. He'd easily choose his tranquilizer pistol over a lethal handgun or rifle as a method of silencing the enemy. It seemed she only chose to kill unless she had to.]
Choosing to stun and disable is the best option than killing someone. Leaves less blood and no trail for others to track.
[Now, he wanted to ask more in depth about her flower power.]
Where was this fruit you happened to eat?
no subject
It was on a table. I think the other scholars were studying it - it's hard to remember, though. I was really little.
[Sorry Ahab, there's no magic tree full of armfruits growing anywhere.]
Do they not have Devil Fruit where you come from?
no subject
No. We don't have anything like that back where I come from. We've got bananas thought. They're pretty good. [Lots of bananas back in Costa Rica. He practically lived off them during missions in the jungle when he wasn't eating rations or native wildlife.]
You got bananas on your world?
no subject
[One of the costs of having cool superpowers is that the means to get them tastes absolutely vile.]
...so do you think you can teach me or not? I don't know of anyone who has a power that's anything like mine, so I need help figuring out how to use them the best way.
no subject
Yeah, I can teach you. Your power is unique I'll give you that. Not exactly like training a raw recruit in how to fire a gun. [Ahab shrugged but found this to be a new experience for him. What was it like being aboard an alien spaceship? Now, he knew he wanted to try something new.]
Want do you want me to help you focus on?
no subject
At his question, though, Robin thinks very carefully about the precise sort of thing she wants to learn.]
Is there a way for me to knock someone out without killing them, or hitting them over the head?
[Pure concussive force isn't exactly her strong suit, after all - both because of the odd angles that her arms would end up having to hit someone at, and because she's just a child.]
It's okay if it hurts them a lot - I just want another way to do this.
