For those who knew them: Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, Clark Kent, Scott Lang and Foggy Nelson are gone.

[ Bruce doesn't know whether or not to leave it at that. He wants to keep it a brief announcement, almost detached, but in the process he's making it fairly obvious that some of these people leaving has affected him a lot. But then again, that's why he went with text, so he can avoid any slip of his expression or tone of voice that might betray just how upset he is.

He doesn't really want to talk about it. Or maybe he does, but he doesn't know with whom, or how to bring it up. It's not like he's ever been the best at expressing himself.

Best to just leave it at that. Short and... not really sweet, no. ]

The alternative being that they end up somewhere else, right? But you've had people come back ... here after going home, but has there been anyone who's been here, left, and come back from somewhere else?

Or they just don't go anywhere.

[ Because that's always an option, horrible as it might sound. ]

We've had people leaving and coming back while not remembering a single thing about their time here. We also have some people currently on board who were first taken from their world to another one, and from that one they came here. So in theory they don't all necessarily go home. And when they come back, they're not always the same people who left, even when they're from identical or the same places of origin.

Wow, those are ... some options I hadn't considered.

...Were they all your friends?

Not all. I knew Tony from back home, Pepper's his girlfriend and we became close friends here. Clark was my friend too. I'd only started to get to know Scott and Foggy, but they were nice people. We got along.

A couple other people have left too, I've been told in the meantime. But I didn't notice because I was't really close to them— or didn't even know them at all.

...You know, I haven't seen one of my roommates around in a few days, actually.

Really? What's their name? Are they still on the directory?

Danny ...Holt? He's still on the directory, so he might just be after some down time.

It's possible. Sometimes the directory takes a while to update, so it's also possible he's among the people who've disappeared.
I don't know everyone on board so it wouldn't surprise me if there are more names than just the ones I mentioned.

Hey, man, I'd be pretty impressed if you did know everyone on board. Like, that's a lot of changing faces, you know? Keeping track of who's here and not would be a job in itself.

...I didn't get chance to properly thank you for helping me out when I first arrived. So - thanks, by the way.

True. I've been here a while, seeing new faces come and go starts to become a little more commonplace than I'd like it to be. Especially as of late, when we've gotten a lot more people with each round.

Don't mention it. Did you manage to get settled in alright?

Why do you think that is — that there's been an increase in people? Has it been balanced out by more people disappearing?

Oh, yeah. I've totally managed to take up root.

I don't know. Could be anything. Passing some area with a different energy field, different radiation sources, even the mere fact we've been trying to get readings and understand the Ingress— a myriad of things could've affected the way it behaves. The number of people coming and going isn't proportional, though. As a general rule, we have a lot more passengers now than we did five or six months ago.

Feels just like home, right? [ Haha no. ]

Kind of makes you wonder if it's building up to anything.

Right. All we're missing is a bodega or two, and boom. Home.

It's made me wonder plenty of times already. [ And Bruce's always had a knack for focusing on worst case scenarios, so. ]

Too bad I don't drink. But there's a pretty stocked up bar at the mess hall for those who do, so at least there's that. I myself prefer sticking to tea.

Wow, I'm definitely too young. I just meant for feel and familiarity, and availability of badly reported tabloids.

I don't know. Kids start partying young these days, from what I hear. [ Not that Bruce has ever partied quite like that, but. Details. ]

A shame that whatever we do, this place will never truly feel like home. even if it could be worse.
