[video] Hell hath no fury like an AI scorned (backdated to 4/30)

[ Tex is angry. Normally she'd send out a text blast, but this is an unusual circumstance, one that leads to her choosing to actually use the video feature on the MID. ]

I guess we've all gotten pretty used to taking matters into our own hands here. And why not? Even if you kill someone, all they're going to do is slap you on the wrist, right? So fine, indescriminate murder is obviously going to be a thing here. Fucking go for it. Life's cheap here.

But I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to talk about what just happened to Rinzler. People obviously think it's up for debate whether he's sentient or has rights of his own. That's what I saw at his trial. People bringing up the idea of recoding him to solve the problem of the way he acts or the way he thinks. Lucky him for having his creator here, right? We can just reprogram him and make everything better.

Let me tell you something: that's bullshit. You might not like him, you might even think he's dangerous, but he's his own, not yours. And Alan Bradley had no fucking right to go messing around in his coding. Do you hear me, Alan Bradley? You have me to answer to for what you've done.

There's not much in the world that can change an organic at their very base level with just a few movements of a hand. So for them to understand even on a scholarly level about the very fact you're destroying someone and then remaking them into something else...it's a terrifying concept to those of us who do understand, but so abstract as to be a story for those who can not comprehend.

More so when the one they are changing is considered private or public property.

I may not be of much help but perhaps I can aide in being a lookout if Rinzler needs more time away from people.

I'll do my best as a watchdog Agent Texas.

[He'd salute, but cube and all.]

Or corrupted to the point of deletion. I don't say there may not be some extremeness in some of Rinzler's reactions, but the very fact he moves and acts like a program meant to attack and defend something makes this entire thing even worse, as it seems no one is looking at purpose and just seeing things like he's any other organic with a violent streak.

Has no one thought to wonder why if he's so dangerous he's not been killing crewmembers left and right or why we're not medically shackling everyone who has ever killed on board this ship? If it truly is do to his code being corrupted in some way did they allow time for him to trust enough that we are trying to help and not take away his autonomy? Or is everyone going to ignore the very fact they have now justified Rinzler's very acts by continually going after him?

Perhaps that could be a job option, if we're certain my lack of organic traits won't be used against me that is. Would be a good way to use my creator's influences for someone's betterment at very least.
