[It's her first post on the network. It won't be her last. Karen slides her fingers through her hair, obviously looking for a place to start.]

Okay, does anyone feel like they've actually adjusted to all of this? I know I haven't been here for long, and even when you know for a fact that there are aliens, when you've seen them come down and make a mess out of New York City, you just never expect to be taken on board an actual spaceship. [There's a nervous little laugh at that before she takes a deep breath.] But this happened, so...

[Karen looks directly at the video and smiles.]

So I guess I'll start. Uhm...for those I haven't met, my name is Karen Page. I'm from Vermont, originally, but I moved to New York. Hell's Kitchen - I know, it sounds like a terrible place, and it can be. But there's also some really good people. I work at a law firm there. I'm not a lawyer, I'm...I make coffee and answer phones and I'm the deciding vote in things like whether or not we're having pizza or Thai food for lunch.

[And it's worth noting that the more she talks about her life, the more her face lights up.]

So, who wants to tell me more about themselves? Like where you're from and what you do there, or anything - just anything.

[Conversation always makes for the best distraction. She catches her breath.]

I don't know a lot of people who've never been off their planet. I mean, some, but not many.

Now you know one more - well, I guess I can't say that I count anymore either.

I've never even heard of the planet you've never been off. Though I guess there are a lot of you here.

Right down to the same state, in some cases. I can't even imagine the odds.

[Karen can't decide if he's missing anything or not, having never been to earth. She leans closer to the video.]

What's the most amazing thing you've seen out there?

I try not to put a lot of stock in the odds.

[After all, most of the people here from his galaxy know each other, and they're all from different planets originally.]

Most amazing's a tough call, I've seen a lot of things. There's a planet near the Monsua Nebula-- it doesn't have a name, no one would go there, it's covered in constant, massive electrical storms. Except underneath it's-- perfect. Nicest place you ever saw.

That sounds incredible. I wonder if the Moira will ever take us there.

I'm not sure it could get us there. If we're in a different galaxy and all.

Can't it just...take us through one of those wormholes or whatever?

What wormholes?

I don't know, I just assumed we'd go through a wormhole at some point. Like they do in every science fiction movie ever.

I don't think this ship even has a hyperdrive. And even if it did-- well, it's a long way away.

Well hopefully we'll see some beautiful planets and not all the haunted prisons.

There's nothing haunted, that's not real. But i can't say I much like the place.

You don't believe in ghosts?

[Now this is interesting.]

What, you do?

I'm...in space, with all sorts of different people with different powers who come from all different kinds of galaxies. I'm not really going to rule very much out at this point.

Yeah, but other galaxies doesn't mean ghosts. I dunno, I don't buy it.
