[The feed clicks on to a very pale man gone slightly paler than normal. He has dark hair and dark eyes, and his face is extremely carefully controlled, doing his best to conceal worry.]
Ah... hello. My name is Greg. I'm not sure if anyone can help me, but has anyone seen a man named Miles Vorkosigan lately? He's about four foot nine, grey eyes. He talks very quickly. [His mouth twitches.] You'll know him if you've met him, believe me. He is-- [Gregor gropes briefly for a polite turn of phrase and rejects several internal attempts before he finishes] --extremely distinctive.
At any rate, is anyone able to locate him? He hasn't been responding to my calls, and while that is not particularly unusual in and of itself, he usually comes home every once in a while, and he hasn't turned up at work. I'm starting to worry. I-- [He stops, struggling briefly.] He's my foster-brother. I'd just like to know where he is. Miles, if you can see this, kindly drop me a line to let me know you aren't dead in an air vent somewhere, please. I'd appreciate it.
Thank you very much.

action. probably.
It's Miles, Gregor. He's probably off doing something that's nearly going to get himself killed and then come back just fine.
action!
[He huffs out a breath and sits up, his eyes narrowing slowly.]
This... to disappear in a situation like this--I'm not entirely sure if it's like him. I'm concerned.

He probably thinks he doesn't have to, now that he's not Admiral Naismith or whatever. Which ( Ivan leans back into the room, fixing Gregor with a look ) you think he maybe's gone a little crazy without everyone propping him up like that? You weren't on Earth, Gregor. Before he got kidnapped and switched out with his clone. He got a little nuts.
( this, ivan thinks, is a delicately put summation of the shit he was dragged through on that planet. )

[Gregor rests his elbows on his knees, steeples his fingers, and presses them lightly to his lips in deep consideration.]
I'm not so sure, Ivan. I mean--it's possible that he's gone a little crazy, and I honestly don't care whether or not he writes formal written reports anymore since I suspect that getting them straight instead of filtered through Simon would send me into semi-regular cardiac arrest, but this just seems... off. [He shrugs.] Hopefully it's nothing, but I think we can't afford to take any chances, considering everything else that's going on.

( it is not good enough. ivan knows this, and is resigned to a more involved fate. )

( he's just saying. )
Miles'll be fine. It's Miles.

I don't suppose you'd care to explain the series of events that led up to him being handed to me bound in duct tape? Not that I don't understand the impulse to gag Miles, I've spoken to him, but I admit I'm curious.

But is like his stupid to mouth filter is turned off. Nothing stops him from talking- even when he was drunk he didn't speak as this.

No, you're right, that's not like him at all. He's been in a prison camp, it was... [Gregor trails off. He's seen the footage, and his lips thin slowly.] It was not very much like anything on this ship, whether he enjoys his sanitation job or not.
I'm sorry. [Honestly, his face clearing as he watches Niko's over the feed. He wonders briefly when Niko saw Miles drunk but that's not high enough on his priority list to divert the conversation just now.] I think Miles is likely sorry too, if he's got his head back on straight, wherever he is now. He was not... particularly kind to me, either, after I collected him, and his behavior was extremely erratic. I'm not excusing the things he said, but this just confirms my worry that something out of the ordinary may have happened to him.

Sorry about your brother though, ah? Good luck in finding him.

When you say he comes back every once in a while, how often would you say that is? I'm trying to establish a baseline.

No. No, I don't think he'd necessarily do that at all.

Well--if you've already decided to go, I won't dissuade you, but I know it could be dangerous. Please let me know if you see him.

[Eggsy had stumbled across some shadier areas on the planet, and maybe Miles had found them, too.]
