video;
[ The video comes on and it's mostly his bright yellow motorcycle helmet, the garish smiling face and GOOD LUCK printed over the visor. ]
--fuckin' hell.
[ He's off balance, but he catches himself and flips up the visor to give a toothy grin. ]
Lookin' to get my hands on some paint or dye or fabric. Bright colors.
[ He looks thoughtful for a moment. ]
Or music. Somethin' loud and fast. Gotta be somethin' worth looking at or listening to on this ship.
Name's Kobra Kid, by the way. Anyone heard of me? Kind of a big deal where I'm from.

[Smiling, she flips her hand up in a wave and ends her things of things so she can meet him at the pool.]

Careful. If you fall in the water with that thing on, you might drown.

[ In other words, he has no clue how to swim.
He slips it off of his head and sits next to her, not particularly caring that he's just sat in a puddle and placing the helmet between them. ]
You got a lot of water back where you're from?

[She smiles as she looks down at the pool, remembering how things had been better when she was younger and there were things like water parks and pool parties.]
Not anymore. There's still oceans and lakes, but you have to be careful with water. Make sure it's not infected, so you don't get sick and turn.
[Her hand moves over to rest atop the helmet sitting between them, fingers drumming atop it in a quick beat. Her legs move through the water just as fast, going back and forth until she's tempted to just slip into the water right then and there.]
I could teach you to swim, if you wanted.

Doesn't seem all that practical in space.
[ He dips a hand in, wiggling his fingers. It still feels strange to him and he half expects it to burn like the acid raid. ]

[She figures that it may not be fun for him if he's not used to it though, and drops the subject there. Instead of talking about it, she shows it's not harmful by slipping into the water. She's fully clothed, part from her shoes, but figures it's about time for the clothes she showed up here in got a wash.
She sinks down for a few seconds before popping back up, and takes a second to run her hand across the top of the water to splash him lightly.]
It doesn't have to be practical to be fun.
no subject
[ Really, the only time Kobra would say that it isn't practical is when there's a child or his brother in the room or when he's being actively shot at. ]
Important part of feelin' alive.
no subject
Yeah, it's also an important part of people controlling you when you don't have any other options.
[She doesn't delve any further into things than that, and instead of being somber she smiles a little and moves back through the water.]
I never had the time or privacy for sex, before coming here. And meeting you. Some people would say you're a bad influence, Kobra.
no subject
Most people would say I'm a bad influence, but they're just jealous.
[ He grin, big and stupid. ]
Privacy for me just means my brother ain't in the immediate vicinity. Even that's a luxury some days.
[ Today, though, he's missing Party more than he can possibly put words to. He'd never have sex again if he could have his brother back. ]
no subject
If we're gonna get together more often, you better get a better idea of privacy. We could've already had something going, if you'd get in the damn water.
[It's a tease, and she grins up at him. She knows that it's not actually going to get him in the water, but figures it's a nice shot.]
no subject
[ Bluff called, because he's not getting in that pool unless one of the Killjoys is drowning in it and even then he'll probably be doing it just to drown with them. Real blind leading the blind stuff there. ]
no subject
Nope.
[It's hard to tell if she's serious or not, but the way she pops the p-sound in her answer probably gives proof enough that she isn't.]
no subject
[ He shrugs, like it doesn't matter either way, but he doesn't really think it's anything more than a bluff, either. ]
no subject
Your loss.
no subject
Hey! Quit it!
no subject
Can I still wear your helmet?
[Her hair's wet, so she figures it's worth asking.]
no subject
[ With a suddenly serious face, he picks it up in both hands and goes to lower it over her head, but he cracks a smile halfway through. ]
no subject
[She brings her hands up to help his put the helmet in place over her head. She hasn't ever worn one before, and she's surprised at how she's tempted to invite him to hit her just so she can see how well it works.]
Do you wear this for fun, or do you have a motorcycle somewhere?
no subject
[ He taps his blunt nails on the side of the plastic with a playful grin. ]
Sometimes we get stuck without shelter in one. Shit hurts your face if you can't get it mostly covered.
