Hello, beauties! Now that I've caught a free moment to myself, I thought I'd say hello to all of you at once and finally break in this old thing!

[He winks briefly. ~~Everyone should consider themselves fortunate that he doesn't pose dramatically~~.]

My name is Mettaton, former shining robot star of the Underground! I's been nice meeting a few of you, and I hope that I can make very good friends with everyone else just as easily!

I would like to clarify my main position on the ship to everyone; I'm a Cybernetics Technician! Since that is not my forte, I humbly ask that if anyone has prior experience, would you be so kind as to share your knowledge? I assure you, I'm a quick learner!

I think that's about all I wanted to say--oh, wait! Maybe I should let you know that I do not always keep to one form. I'm able to switch about freely, and while I prefer looking as fabulous as I am right now, that's not always possible. So if you see this--

Considering how many people here need prosthetics, once you got this training down I'm going to be using the hell out of you. We've been consulting with people in the science department and the armory. They could give you some advice. I'm good with cybernetics but I'm a trial-by-fire style of teacher.

[Though she's more than willing to drag someone along trial by fire style.]

I wouldn't mind taking a few lessons from you darling, just to see if it helps. While literal trial by fire doesn't bother me, I'm better at emulating a professional! Not to say that you aren't, but the more exact it's done, the more likely I can internalize the process!

At any rate, I'll have to see about talking to the science department and armory workers. If I must provide a service, I would prefer that it was a good service!

Well, just let me know a good time and I'll fit you into my busy schedule of constantly spending time in Med Bay. I have a plan to keep spare prosthetic limbs for the people that have prosthetics on board. You can help me knock out a bunch of those.

Like television!! I'm a TV celebrity--though I suppose in the context of the Moira, I'm not. I'll work on re-elevating my status, of course! We'll call it a work in progress for now.

I'm a soldier. Hence the scars and the eye patch. [He knew now that the eye patch was mostly for aesthetic reasons; to make him look more like Big Boss.]

I gathered as much! You have a very clear look about you!!

[It's not his business what this guy does to look like a badass. But it's working~]

Is it the eye patch and the scars? Most just assume I'm an old soldier.

[Which he is. A tough SOB.]

What acts do you perform on this Monster TV? Want to give me a demonstration?

[There’s a familiar face. As unexpected as their little mirror dance together had been, it had also been surprisingly fun and Zam remembers the droid fondly.] “Cybernetics Technician,” huh? I think we might have to become very good friends. [His current lack of a right arm should explain why fairly plainly.]

[The mention of an alternate form gets Zam’s attention, though when the droid shows his drawing, it isn’t quite what Zam had in mind.] You know, given the other changelings we have onboard, I was half-expecting a speeder. Or a bike. [No judgment, though. Certainly turning into a box on a wheel is still more convenient than turning into a kriffing boat (sorry Riptide, Zam’s still not over it).]

You aren’t a Cybertronian, are you?

Don't be fooled, darling. I'm nothing if not honest, and I wholly admit I need to study up before I do any major work on anyone! It's almost a pity that I didn't see fit to pay attention to Alphys when she was performing maintenance on me!

Zam's mention of what he expected Mettaton's alternate form to be got the robot laughing, at least! The Underground had little room for such vehicles. A box on a wheel was perfectly fine to get around Hotland!]

Ohh, sorry to have dashed your expectations!! I'm either a box or a dashingly handsome show host, and those two certainly overlap often!

Hmm. A Cybertronian? I'm afraid not! The term is alien to me.

That’s too bad. Given your earlier demonstration, I think any cybernetics you’d make would be a good deal more versatile then the conventional ones. [Certainly more flexible. If you’re going to make new limbs, why give them the same old human limitations?]

They’re inorganic changelings. They don’t like being called “robots,” but they are made of metal. And they can turn into things with wheels. [He suddenly grins.] Well, most of them. There’s also one that turns into a boat.

[While Mettaton would likely agree that extra-flexible limbs were a boon--just look at these wiggly arms and masterfully-crafted legs!--he wasn't in any position to craft them. He'd at least put for this best effort in studying the art and putting it to practice, though. He's a go-getter!!]

Oh, really? I don't know what a changeling is, but from the way you are describing it, it's rather self-explanatory. Though...a boat? That seems rather impractical.

I must say, I would be very surprised if you aren't already a model from where you came from! Why, your colour and design is simply ravishing! I would love to get your measurements whenever is convenient for you. Just looking at you gives me inspiration, oh this is wonderful!

Forgive me if I seem a bit overexcited, but I am an artist and I must take inspiration when it appears or else it will vanish forever. Whatever would I do then?

I do entertainment, sweetheart. TV shows and the like! It's rather unlike what I've been hired for, as you can probably tell!

Can't say I've ever met a box-transforming robot programmed for entertainment. [Just like he's pretty sure this is the first time in his life he's been called 'sweetheart' by a robot.]

Oh. Ah, as far as I know, the one who built me isn't here! But she's really rather good, the captains should have brought her here if they needed work doing with robotics. I'm sure she'd be great at it!! I mean she did create me, a robot with a soul!
