[ Lois had been on the ship for a few days and she already had more questions than answers. She should lay low and stay out of trouble or ask Clark to do this for her... But that wasn't her style. And considering recent revelations, she'd rather do this on her own.

Despite the temptation, she didn't snoop around upon arrival - instead choosing a more direct approach. She starts the feed in her room, seated at her desk. ]

Hi, most of you probably don't know me. My name's Lois Lane and I have a question for all of you, or a few I suppose. I'm a journalist back home so call it a habit, but I'd love to speak with whoever's willing. Either on or off the record, considering my job seemed to find a way to transfer itself here. I'd preferably like to meet in person, but I can be flexible. Nothing too serious - more about backgrounds, how long you've been on the ship, demographics to establish a baseline. A few questions about your experiences while here if you're willing to share.

[ Her more in-depth questions are something she'd rather keep off the network, at least the ones she'd figured out so far. This process was going to have to be organic based on responses. Speaking of keeping things off the network and getting it out of her head... ]

Also, does anyone have any actual paper and either a pen or pencil they might be willing to part with until I can get a supply of my own? I'll find a way to pay you back. Thank you all for your time and possible assistance.

[ Seems fitting to throw that in there right before she ends her feed, try and work towards building up her own resources as best she can. The message is short and to the point, she'll deal with trying to get interviews with the Captains once she's got a bit of a firmer grip on the real situation.

Perfect. If you're up for it tonight, that'd work for me. Maybe the mess hall? Or would you prefer someplace more private?

No, mess hall's fine. I don't really have anything I'd rather hide, so...

Alright. [ It might just be her background, but anyone who says they don't have anything to hide usually raises a red flag for her. Not that she's gonna try to read into that. ] Mess hall in half an hour work for you?

[Well, for him it really is just her backgroung, but she'll find that out for herself soon enough.] Sure, I'll meet you there.

Perfect. See you soon.

[ And with that, she ends her side of the feed and starts to gather a few things together in order to arrive a little early. Or at least that had been the plan. She'd found someone with a notebook, but apparently they didn't believe in being prompt. So she swings into the mess hall with a minute to spare, looking around to see if she beat him here. ]

[Tyler had arrived at the mess hall only a little before Lois, having taken the chance to get himself a coffee. Once he's done with that, he finds her easily enough, and after a nod to acknowledge her, he catches up to her.] Hey. Lois Lane, right? I'm Tyler Preman, we talked on the MID. [He extends his free hand for her to shake.]

[ She quickly takes the offered hand, giving him a smile. ] Yes, hi. It's a pleasure to meet you. Thanks again for taking the time to chat with me.

[ The phrase is somewhat polished, like she's said it a few times before. ]

Should we grab a spot?

[He smiles back, noticing how polished her introduction is, before nodding at her question.] Sure, after you.

[While they're walking, he asks.] So, news station or newspaper?

[ She dips her head slightly before starting to move, more than happy to answer his question. ] Newspaper. The Daily Planet.

[ She doesn't go far, not really making a move to choose a table in particular - closest will do. ] Does this work for you?

[Daily Planet... Not a name that he recognizes, but he's gotten used to that, so he lets it slide. He just nods and joins her at the nearest table.] Sure, it'll work just fine.

[He sits, indicating the chair in front of him for Lois.]

Great. [ She gives a small 'thank you' before settling into the chair and placing Clark's tablet and notebook on the table. Once Tyler's seated, she doesn't make a move to take notes - instead shifting slightly. ]

How long have you been on the ship?

[He looks up to do the quick math in his head.] Six months, give or take a few days.

Six months, that's quite some time. [ A beat. ] How different is this from home? Because for me, at least, this is still pretty out there. [ She has no issues sharing a little in order to get a little back. It how this worked sometimes. ]
