Okay, so. I have some matters I'd like to bring up. If you've not met me, I'm Doc Yewll. I'm not always going to be nice to you but I will try to fix what's wrong with you. There are other doctors that have more patience than me, refer to them if you have to.

On to business.

The Med Bay still needs some repair. I'd say with a little help everything could be up and running within a few days but it does mean people with technical parts and anyone in need of surgery are going to hold off for treatment. Useful salvage to that end would be a miracle.

Also that station's infirmary has a neat trick of offering up complete medical histories. If you would be willing, please send me what you can of yours privately. I'm not going to sneak around and try to get it, but if I have a complete medical run down it means I can better help you in the future if related problems come up. Just don't grab anyone else's if that's the case. Just yours. I want absolute information consent here.

☄ Separate Private Texts to Clone Shep, Solid Snake, and Liquid Snake
I've noticed some issues with your physiology that I would like to discuss with you in private. Either message me or come by Med Bay.

Hoss?

That still doesn't explain how you got a hold of my DNA profile.

[ What the hell did she see there? ]

[ That's what Snake's suspicion had been, but he'd been hoping that the rest of the crew wouldn't have access to that information, that it would be locked away somewhere.

Granted, he should know better by now than to hope for anything. ]

Fine. You're at the med bay?

I'm coming.

[ True to his word, Snake heads over from his room to the medical bay. It's not an area that he visits often, but he has seen Meh on their shared kitchen duty days. She usually does the least work possible and then scuttles away, though, so they haven't spoken much.

She makes no secret of the fact that she isn't human, and how could she, with the way that she looks? It's something that Snake's adjusted to by now, so nothing but vague displeasure (for the situation, rather than for her) shows on his face as he walks into the main area. ]

... You called?

[ Well, she texted, but details. ]

[ While the med bay is a legitimate enterprise as far as Snake's aware, he isn't a fan of the place and so he's tense as he follows Meh into the smaller room. It's not that he expects an attack, but it's hard to feel at ease in a place like this.

Especially when Meh starts to go on about DNA and cellular damage. Between the way that Snake was created and his infection with FOXDIE, it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that there's something wrong with him.

At her question, though, he purses his lips and shakes his head, shifting back against the nearest wall instead. ]

Go on.

[ Whoever designed his genes. Even that is something of a mystery to Snake, though according to Miller, Zero is the one to blame. It's not like he can feel much anger toward someone with a name like that, someone who he's never met and who seems to have faded into the background of their world.

All the same, Snake holds his hands out in front of him and stares at the lines in his palms. Liquid had hinted at this once, but whether he'd understood just how bad it was, Snake couldn't say. Apparently Liquid hadn't done anything about it until Dr. Yewll brought it to his attention, but...

Big Boss really donated his biological material to help them? Snake frowns, not having expected that given that the man had at two separate points orchestrated plans to kill him.

He looks up eventually, studying Meh with a close eye as he asks: ]
What's in it for you?
soldiergenes: (to face what i've done)

[ Even if she is a doctor, it seems odd that she would have singled out people she didn't know and then reached out to them to help them.

Snake would have said as much, if she hadn't added those two other details. Just how many races exist out in the vast universe of space that were made as slaves or clones, as worker drones or vessels for other people? Snake swallows around a tightness in his throat, his chest burning with bile.

As a soldier who isn't quite a veteran, but has plenty he needs to make up for, Snake finally concedes with a small nod. ]

All right. So how do you fix it?
soldiergenes: (there will come a time)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2016-04-15 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[ It figures that if she found a problem with his genes, she would have stumbled upon FOXDIE too. It's something that Snake barely thinks about these days. As far as he knows, there's nothing he can do about it being there. It hasn't had any ill effects on him from what he can tell, so either it will kill him one day or it won't.

He tilts his head from side to side as he picks out his words. ]

It's a retrovirus that was injected into me without my knowing before I went on a mission. It was a weapon in its own right, because it was designed to infect that people I came into contact with on that mission and induce heart attacks.

I was told there's not really any way to get it out of me, but if you've got ideas...

[ Snake shrugs. He's willing to hear her out at this point. ]

[ It shouldn't come as much surprise that alien technology could have advanced far past what anyone on Earth is capable of, particularly with the medical field. Yet all the same, Snake's a little skeptical that Meh will actually be able to remove the FOXDIE from his system.

Then again, he doesn't have much to lose at this point and if she wants to take a crack at it, then he he may as well let her.

At her implied question, he shrugs with one shoulder. ]
Yeah, sure. You need anything else? Vials of blood or something?

[ He doesn't really care what she takes from him, so long as she doesn't put any other mysterious substances into his system. ]
soldiergenes: (and i have no idea)

[personal profile] soldiergenes 2016-04-22 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Works for me. [ It's not like Snake's in a rush to offer his vein anyway, so he'll let the doc do what she has to do and see if she follows up. ] You obviously know where to find me. [ He can't help but take another crack at the fact that she looked at his medical records without his permission and then contacted him completely out of the blue.

He pushes off of the wall and is about to take his leave, but hesitates to make sure she doesn't have anything more to say. ]
