Okay, so. I have some matters I'd like to bring up. If you've not met me, I'm Doc Yewll. I'm not always going to be nice to you but I will try to fix what's wrong with you. There are other doctors that have more patience than me, refer to them if you have to.

On to business.

The Med Bay still needs some repair. I'd say with a little help everything could be up and running within a few days but it does mean people with technical parts and anyone in need of surgery are going to hold off for treatment. Useful salvage to that end would be a miracle.

Also that station's infirmary has a neat trick of offering up complete medical histories. If you would be willing, please send me what you can of yours privately. I'm not going to sneak around and try to get it, but if I have a complete medical run down it means I can better help you in the future if related problems come up. Just don't grab anyone else's if that's the case. Just yours. I want absolute information consent here.

I've noticed some issues with your physiology that I would like to discuss with you in private. Either message me or come by Med Bay.

Any longer than six to eight months and the symptoms will be harder to stall. And the earlier you get it to me, the longer I have to find the most effective treatment.

[She's still blunt, not padding what she says with any platitudes or apologies. Fact is fact, and she suspects this woman has known her time has been finite and let her research herself in a circle trying to figure out why her cells were falling apart.]

You're lucky that monster had me take a second look. Otherwise you would have been left to fall apart all on your own.

Six months. [A bitter, disbelieving laugh, but from the way she's not looking at her, it's not about Yewll or even the science.

[She does look back when Yewll mentions her being left on her own, with a smile no less bitter.] I'm used to it. [Cerberus was going to destroy her before she'd ever awoken. Brooks left her to die instead of helping her up like Shepard's squadmates helped her. Someone helping her without being paid off is a novelty.] But, uh... [The words are foreign and heavy on her tongue, but sincere.] Thank you.

Don't thank me yet. For one, I've not managed to help you. For another, you're lying to someone that believes in the person you're trying to be.

You're a handsome woman, but I'll always favor a genuinely kind heart. Just get me the sample. I'll do what it takes.

[Maybe if she knew what Tali would feel about the Indogenes, that they were a slave race that rose against their masters. She'd change her mind. But for now, she's defensive of her friend.]

[Even if she's a doctor.]

I'm thanking you for not telling her. That's help. [It's almost more helpful than the cure. Death doesn't scare her, especially with people coming back from the dead. Being found out does.

[But she's not going to push that. Instead:] What kind of sample do you need? Can she provide one herself or do you want her in here?

Hair or a cheek swab. A cheek swab would be best.

I'd prefer it being her come in here. As long as she delivers it though, I'll work with it.

[She nods, and then remembers:] We're... actually not from the same universe. She had a different upbringing and maybe different parents from... [How does she even refer to the Shepard of her own universe?] Mine. [Terrible, but it'll do.] But she was probably surgically reconstructed from - I've heard mine called "meat and tubes" - the same way. Will it matter?

If the DNA is the same? No. It shouldn't matter.

[At least she doesn't call Shepard her mother, but she has a feeling there's complications with Snake's story.]

[She nods.] Okay. I'll... find a way.

[If Commander Shepard could make peace on Rannoch, broker a truce between the turians and the krogan, destroy the Collector base, and defeat Saren, she can get a sample.

[Shepard's a bleeding heart, anyway.]

Though I'll tell you that you're not the only clone on board. Whatever I do to fix you, I'll be replicating the procedure on the others.

[She doesn't care about the others, but the fact that Yewll's helping them all says something about her.]

You some kind of clone sympathizer, or just doing your job?

Both.

[She'd not known Shepard was a clone when she started looking for a way to fix her. But she sure as hell didn't like that someone "artificial" was treated as less of a person.]

Either way I'm motivated. I don't need anything more out of it than fixing it.

Better than throwing us away once you've got the real thing.
