Okay, so. I have some matters I'd like to bring up. If you've not met me, I'm Doc Yewll. I'm not always going to be nice to you but I will try to fix what's wrong with you. There are other doctors that have more patience than me, refer to them if you have to.

On to business.

The Med Bay still needs some repair. I'd say with a little help everything could be up and running within a few days but it does mean people with technical parts and anyone in need of surgery are going to hold off for treatment. Useful salvage to that end would be a miracle.

Also that station's infirmary has a neat trick of offering up complete medical histories. If you would be willing, please send me what you can of yours privately. I'm not going to sneak around and try to get it, but if I have a complete medical run down it means I can better help you in the future if related problems come up. Just don't grab anyone else's if that's the case. Just yours. I want absolute information consent here.

[ It must be one heckuva scanning device. If McCoy wasn't so wary and suspicious of the place, he might almost want to head down there himself and investigate it.

But no, he's fine up here. Here he doesn't have to worry about his privacy being potentially violated. Among other things. ]

Because the creepy horrible prison station seems to be able to scan us and glean our life histories, I suspect during our mandatory decontamination procedure or something.

Hell if I know.

[ He doesn't trust machines any further than he can throw them. Especially not whatever kind of hair-raising AI they have down in that correctional center. But enough about that. ]

You're telling me. Scanners can pick up a lot, but picking up memories is a whole new treat.

[And she does not like it.] We have a lot of PTSD stricken war vets on board who don't need this shtako. The physical side-effects that can lead to are a mess. [She fails a little at psychologically helping people. And by a little, one might say a lot.]

[ McCoy has almost the opposite problem. But he can understand the need for her to seek out isolation. He gets those urges too when he's in a Mood, or when something's gone wrong and he doesn't feel like talking about it with anyone.
