[Dutch is in the mess again, sitting at a table. There’s a half empty bottle of something in front of her. When she finally speaks to her public she speaks in a sing-song voice.] Guess what I’ve got?
[She drops red and blue circular chips from one hand onto her lap, then picks up a deck of cards, fanning it out slightly to show the numbers and suits.]
I got a surprise in my mailbox the other day that’ll enable all of us to get on that little poker game I was trying to organize.
[She organizes the cards back into the deck and sets them down on the table in front of her.]
Who’s up for a friendly game of cards?

[Venom makes his way towards the mess unsure of what he'll find when he gets there. This is his first time at playing poker aboard the Moira.]
Dutch?
action;
Over here!

You'll go easy on me, right?
action;
Absolutely!
[Then she gets to shuffling the cards, clearly having practice at doing so.]
Re: any order or do we post randomly?
I've not played cards in a long time.
random goes faster, so I vote random!
[She deals out the cards, offering a smile to each of the players at the table.]

First time for me.

[He didn't have time. Not with being a soldier shooting people.]

[ He shrugs, what can you do, and looks down at the unfamiliar cards in his hand. ]

Alright, you've got to place an ante into the pot. A bet. The blue chips are worth five, the red chips are worth ten. We're not playing with actual currency this time around on account of me being broke.
[She smiles a little bit.]
Bet on what you think your cards are worth. The best hands are the ones with letters, then with high numbers, then with low numbers, in a nutshell. The A means Ace. The Ace is the best. Then K for King, Q for Queen, J for Jack, and the numbers are pretty straightforward. It's even better if you get the suits to match. Those are the little symbols. The hearts and diamonds and whatnot.

[Less cards, different suits, and it looks like this game lacks the trumps of a sabacc deck. But betting, he has a handle on that. He's guessing the aim must be to have a higher total than everyone else. If there are special arrays she'll probably explain them later. He shifts the cards around in his hand thoughtfully.]
Do you always play with paper cards?
[The lack of randomization seems like it'd make poker an easier game by nature. So much here seems to be done on paper. Cards seem like a more logical place to skimp than star charts, but still.]

Yep. Always with paper cards. Well... I suppose that's not true. Some people play poker on computers. It's the same concept only with images on a screen.
[She slides out enough chips to represent fifteen units.]

Strip poker though, right?

But you must join us, Foggy! Get your adorable ass down here!

I thought poker was some sort of universal game. That every universe had it.
video;
I did, too, but apparently there are corners of this universe filled with unfortunate souls who are not so blessed with this card game. He's promised to teach me one of his games, though, so I'm getting something out of this arrangement, as it turns out. [She smiles and shuffles her cards.]
video;
[ But he's all smiles and relaxed, for all of his mock surprise. ]
What sorta games?
video;
Sabacc? Never heard of it, personally, but that doesn't mean it's not worthwhile to learn. I need something to do besides wandering the ship aimlessly, y'know? And welding. Who would have imagined that would have gotten boring, right?
