[It’s been a tense week of disguises, stealth, and unsuccessful network hacking attempts, but as the days continue to pass without incident, Zam is beginning to think all of this was a false alarm. Yes, the Jedi from Coruscant are on the ship, possibly along with the senator, but for whatever reason, the Ingress seems to have forgotten about Jango. Neither his name nor his face have appeared on the directory, which means he either isn’t here or he never got his MID. Never hurts to double-check though, and since he won’t be checking the network in either of those situations...]
Just so we’re clear, no one’s seen a human male in blue and silver armor among the newcomers, have they? If you do, you should let me know. Immediately.
Also, to the two or three people now on the ship who are acquainted with me from back home: we’re all in the same situation here -- I don’t want to be here, you don’t want to be here, and I also don’t want you to be here. Let’s not make a bad situation worse by digging up past disputes.
Speaking of which, has anybody figured out how to change your display name on this kriffing thing?

Years.
Oh. Oh no.
There’s an even longer pause before Leia receives a reply this time.]
Before you came through the Ingress, who was in power back home? The Republic or the Empire?
no subject
[And there's only one reason to ask that question. After meeting so many people hailing from decades into her past, she can guess what's coming.]
That's not the case for you, is it?
no subject
No, it’s not.
Which means the Boba Fett I know is probably very different than the one you know. [Possibly decades different, if the woman is from the same time as the smuggler Zam had spoken with.]
no subject
[As far as she can tell, it's the easiest point of comparison.]
no subject
I don’t think I lived to see that.
[But if Boba's a bounty hunter...] You have to be at least 10 or 20 years ahead of me.
no subject
["Before the Clone Wars" encompasses plenty of time. And then, after a few moments:]
Who is Boba Fett?
no subject
Boba Fett is the son of my former partner. I knew him since he was very young.
I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that he became a bounty hunter. That was always the plan.
no subject
Then I'm sure you'll be proud to hear his skills are in high demand.
[Sorry, Boba-Fett's-familial-figure-or-whoever-you-are, she's still a little bitter at the guy.]
no subject
And he’s the one hunting your friend?
no subject
[It's a very good thing she's typing rather than speaking. Hopefully the bite with which she jabs at the keys doesn't come through.]
He's here now, though, which is about the best ending a person could ask for. Fett gets the money, he gets his freedom.
no subject
[She’s tempted to ask more about Boba, but given that this woman is friends with one of his bounties, she’s guessing she wouldn’t get the most unbiased information about him. She changes course instead.]
Your friend in question wouldn’t happen to be one Han Solo, would he? [He seems to be from a similar time, and he’d mentioned being hunted in some capacity.]
no subject
[That's just what she was planning on doing, after all. So long as Han could be rescued, she'd had every intent of saving him.]
That's not a bad guess. So you've met?
no subject
Spoke Huttese at him and he nearly jumped out of his skin.
no subject
[His longtime...issues...with certain Hutts is a subject that they don't need to get into.]
Since we have so many mutual acquaintances, we might as well be acquainted ourselves. What's your name?
no subject
You’re welcome, Coruscant.]
no subject
I'm Leia Organa.
no subject
How’s the future?
no subject
It'll be better when I can get back to it. I have a war to win.
