[The transmission opens to a shot of Pepper in the gardens, featuring a wide open area of green that she means to transform in the next 24 hours or so. She honestly a little nervous about making this announcement--it's entirely possible that more of the crew are tired than not, and she certainly can't blame them. They've just been through something pretty trying, and there's the distinct chance that some would rather shut out any hints of the particular holiday coming up rather than celebrate it.
But for those that might, albeit in a less than traditional way, Pepper wants to put something together. She also wants to make her job worth something, and after the whole mess on Emiri, the crew needs a break.]
Good afternoon, Moira crew. I'm Pepper Potts, the Chief Morale Officer on board. For those of you not aware, tomorrow is February 14th. On Earth this is an annual holiday called Valentine's Day, which celebrates romantic partnerships. I'm very aware that most of us are probably tired of being forced into some sort of connection thanks to our recent encounter with Link'd and all that entailed, but I'd still like to put something together to celebrate--not necessarily romance, but friendship and camaraderie as well.
The idea that even so far from home, we're not alone.
[Never mind the murder that's happened among the crew or other rumored attacks. They need something to counter that, otherwise this trip is going to be all the worse.]
With that in mind, I'd like to put together a sort of dinner and dance, or a dinner and enjoy-the-music night, if that's more your speed. It'll be held in the gardens thanks to permission from our caretaker, and everyone is welcome to come, provided you have medical clearance and are not otherwise assigned to some sort of duty. Those of you who are supposed to be in the mess hall are not excused as per the Captains--[oh, and that gets a tight smile; Pepper had tried to get them a night off, but no luck]--but you may trade shifts if you wish to attend.
Of course, since this is all last minute, I need some help as well. [And here she references a list, because what is Pepper Potts without her paperwork?] All Morale staff, if you would please check-in; there's plenty of work to be done, provided you're able. I'd also like to get with whoever is in charge of the mess hall to see what sort of meal can be put together; if nothing else, I'd like a way to serve at least some of dinner out here. If someone or several someones can provide bartending services that would be very helpful, and of course there is setting up before hand and cleaning up afterwards.
I'm also in the market for music, decorations, tables, chairs--pretty much anything you can think of. [Well, she did say this is last minute, right? And unfortunately, Pepper lacks her contact list of vendors from home. She honestly hates going about something like this in such a fashion, no planning, no resources, but it's important--not just for the crew, but for herself.
Otherwise she's going to spend Valentine's and the hours leading up to it focusing on the fact that her boyfriend got impaled, and no one really wants that.]
Thank you in advance for your time and efforts. Hopefully any future events of this nature won't be quite as impromptu, but I think that we can still pull together something good. I'll be in the gardens should anyone want to contact me in person.
Again, thank you.
[And so ends the feed.]
{{ooc: Mingle log to go up tomorrow! And as per the mods, if your character is on mess hall duty and wants to come, you can handwave saying they switched with someone.}}

But short notice is short notice. And maybe by the time the next chance comes around, I'll have a new prosthetic. [Which is a good sign. He's looking into it.]
How is the management going so far?
no subject
[See, now you've done something dangerous, Kazuhira. Pepper's the sort to hold you to something like that.]
You know, I could put you in touch with someone who might be able to help with that--if you're interested. [Although it does sound like he's got his own contacts, Pepper happens to be dating the leading mind behind a very similar field of technology in their world.]
So far, it's going rather well. People have been generous with their time and talents both. [She's happy with the response, particularly given how last minute this all is. Her one complaint might be the captain's inability to provide her with a professional staff of workers rather than children, but those under her wing are all enthusiastic at least. Still, it feels like her true job is to be a caretaker for the younger crew.]
How are things going for you?

Good to hear, though. Figure it's best we work together when we can. [Sort of a mentality he embraced running motherbase. He's encountered the opposite here, in some cases, but when he wanted to investigate Emiri there were a lot of efforts to help.]
[Despite her younger aids, though, he's pleased at her professionalism. That's always impressive to him.]
I'm interested. Shopping around, still. I want to be careful with whatever I choose, since I guess I would be stuck with it for a while.

Absolutely. Considering everything that could potentially be working against us, this whole situation is only going to be worse if we're fighting ourselves from within as well. [Which makes talk of the recent murder all the more distressing; it's bad enough that Pepper has to fight against the potential of people who want nothing to do with cooperation because they've been kidnapped. To have people actively attacking each other because they can't put aside their personal differences in a setting like this--
It's only going to make things harder for everyone. That's why Pepper is determined to take her job seriously, regardless of any and every challenge that comes with it.]
Of course. It only makes sense that you would want something that's both high in quality and suits your particular needs. [Playing an instrument is rather delicate work, after all. But to regain that gift after having lost it is a precious opportunity. Pepper wants to help it happen.]
Back home, I'm the CEO of the leading developer of technology in a variety of fields. But more to the point, the genius behind our innovation has also been brought here: Tony Stark. [Granted, the brand of prosthetic Kazuhira is looking for is a bit beyond what they've managed in their own world—but there's also greater advancements to build off of here. Pepper's got faith in what Tony can manage to do.] I'll put you two in touch.

[But that doesn't mean he's not proud of business management.]
I've acted as financial director to two independent military bases so far. Management for prominent corporations is never easy. Hats off to you.
But sure. I would speak with Mr. Stark. Thanks. And I hope things go well with the party. Sometimes we would hold sporting events, games... things like that. It's good for morale.

[She makes mental note to point Tony in Kazuhira's direction, not just for the sake of the man needing limbs. This sort of project would be right in Tony's perview, something he would enjoy doing. He needs to do the work he's good at, particularly since until he heals, he's going to be a lot less mobile than he's used to.]
Sporting events? Well, something like that wouldn't be entirely out of the question--although when it comes to abilities, things get a bit trickier. [A normal person versus a supersoldier versus someone who is potentially even stronger than Captain America. It wouldn't be the easiest thing, but Pepper isn't going to dismiss it just because it's difficult.]
Any particular sport you would like to see?
no subject
Maybe with some weight/team distribution it could work.
I used to enjoy football and baseball. I can still pitch but I'm not so good at batting anymore.
[He'll just poke fun at himself for a little bit.]
no subject
Still, it's worth considering.]
I can't even say that much, sadly. [She recognizes the joke easily enough; Pepper just doesn't know Kazuhira well enough to feel comfortable expanding on it.] Which is why I'll happily organize rather than play. And you never know...by the time something gets pulled together, you may be field-ready yourself.
In any case, thank you for the input. It's very appreciated.
