[The transmission opens to a shot of Pepper in the gardens, featuring a wide open area of green that she means to transform in the next 24 hours or so. She honestly a little nervous about making this announcement--it's entirely possible that more of the crew are tired than not, and she certainly can't blame them. They've just been through something pretty trying, and there's the distinct chance that some would rather shut out any hints of the particular holiday coming up rather than celebrate it.

But for those that might, albeit in a less than traditional way, Pepper wants to put something together. She also wants to make her job worth something, and after the whole mess on Emiri, the crew needs a break.]

Good afternoon, Moira crew. I'm Pepper Potts, the Chief Morale Officer on board. For those of you not aware, tomorrow is February 14th. On Earth this is an annual holiday called Valentine's Day, which celebrates romantic partnerships. I'm very aware that most of us are probably tired of being forced into some sort of connection thanks to our recent encounter with Link'd and all that entailed, but I'd still like to put something together to celebrate--not necessarily romance, but friendship and camaraderie as well.

The idea that even so far from home, we're not alone.

[Never mind the murder that's happened among the crew or other rumored attacks. They need something to counter that, otherwise this trip is going to be all the worse.]

With that in mind, I'd like to put together a sort of dinner and dance, or a dinner and enjoy-the-music night, if that's more your speed. It'll be held in the gardens thanks to permission from our caretaker, and everyone is welcome to come, provided you have medical clearance and are not otherwise assigned to some sort of duty. Those of you who are supposed to be in the mess hall are not excused as per the Captains--[oh, and that gets a tight smile; Pepper had tried to get them a night off, but no luck]--but you may trade shifts if you wish to attend.

Of course, since this is all last minute, I need some help as well. [And here she references a list, because what is Pepper Potts without her paperwork?] All Morale staff, if you would please check-in; there's plenty of work to be done, provided you're able. I'd also like to get with whoever is in charge of the mess hall to see what sort of meal can be put together; if nothing else, I'd like a way to serve at least some of dinner out here. If someone or several someones can provide bartending services that would be very helpful, and of course there is setting up before hand and cleaning up afterwards.

I'm also in the market for music, decorations, tables, chairs--pretty much anything you can think of. [Well, she did say this is last minute, right? And unfortunately, Pepper lacks her contact list of vendors from home. She honestly hates going about something like this in such a fashion, no planning, no resources, but it's important--not just for the crew, but for herself.

Otherwise she's going to spend Valentine's and the hours leading up to it focusing on the fact that her boyfriend got impaled, and no one really wants that.]

Thank you in advance for your time and efforts. Hopefully any future events of this nature won't be quite as impromptu, but I think that we can still pull together something good. I'll be in the gardens should anyone want to contact me in person.

Oh, it's Great Morale Officer now, is it? [She grins as she asks; if he wants to call himself that, by all means. It just means Pepper's going to have to expect more of him.]

That's good to hear. I'll see if we can't find someone to trade duties with you tomorrow, since I suspect it's mostly going to be us setting up. I'd also like to get your input on anything you might think the party needs. I've got some experience setting up things like these, but not exactly in this setting.

[You know, without catering companies, party planners, money to pay for it all...]

Don't you worry about that! I... have actually never thrown a party myself, but I'm sure we'll do a great job regardless! There will be delicious snacks! Music! Diversions! Decorations! A big banner, welcoming all!

[Really getting into it now, he gestures grandly. Causing the video feed to jerk and swing around, unfortunately, but at least he's easy to hear.]

That actually sounds pretty close to what I had in mind. [She's learned from their first talk not to watch the video too closely when she's in touch with Papyrus; his eagerness could lead to her motion sickness otherwise. But while she can only imagine what's going on in his head, he's got ideas headed in the right direction. It's probably going to be a matter of focusing his efforts, taming them a little bit.

She can handle that.]

What were you thinking when it came to the banner specifically? [That's something she hasn't already envisioned, and a good way to get Papyrus involved. Especially since she did notice how he slipped "distractions" into there. Yes, it had been on Pepper's list, but she wonders how natural it is for it to be on Papyrus' too.]

[He turns off the feed, but he's back about ten minutes later with a rough idea for the banner, drawn on paper with markers. He drew crewmates wearing shades, giving each other high fives. Also flames drawn on the border for extra cool. The text in the middle that says "WELCOME FRIENDS!!!" was handwritten, but looks suspiciously like papyrus. As in the font.]

[it's easy enough to find ways to occupy herself during those ten minutes; Pepper's actually pretty happy with how many people have responded to her announcement, unsoured on the idea of a Valentine's Day celebration despite the forced matchmaking they'd been put through. No one's really quite as enthusiastic as Papyrus though, who calls back a short time after they hang up to show Pepper his display.

Well. It's clearly a banner to celebrate friendship.]

That's pretty good, actually. [Especially his handwriting; that's honestly impressively close to typeface.] Although flames aren't exactly the first thing I think of when it comes to Valentine's Day.

[Far from it, in fact, but Papyrus doesn't need to know about Pepper's complicated aversions.]

You don't think so? I thought it perfectly symbolized the burning passion of friendship!

[Also he thinks it looks super rad. Like the rug in his room back home.]

I could change it to something else, if you like, but what else embodies the feeling of having friends?

The burning passion of friendship... [God, it almost sounds like something Tony would say. She stifles a laugh at the private joke, not wanting the poor guy to get the wrong idea.]

It's very creative. I'm just not sure everyone else would understand what you're trying to convey. A lot of artists have that problem. [Time to spin a pretty little tale. Pepper doesn't want to hurt Papyrus' feelings, after all.] But the people holding hands is a nice touch. That's very friendly, and warm.

[You know. Without fire.]

[Papyrus is nigh unsinkable, but her kindness is appreciated anyway. He looks over his design, contemplating what he could do instead.]

You're right, the people holding hands is a good start! But it needs more, or else it's just not strong enough to move people to friendships.
