Hi, everyone.
[ There’s a faint note of desperation to her voice, and she wears the harried look of someone acutely allergic to the spotlight. ]
I’m Alice, I’m one of three crew-members assigned to general education on the ship. Agent Texas and — uh — Queen Medusalith are your two other instructor contacts.
I don’t really have a title, but if you want some thematic consistency, you can always make one up. I sort of like ‘Esquire’, but that’s not exactly a prefix, is it?
We’re looking to get the ball rolling on some classes, but before we do that, we need to get an idea of where people are at and what everyone wants to learn.
If you could fill out this survey, I’d really appreciate it. In fact, I’m going to randomly pick someone who completes it and give them a prize. It’s a really, really, really cool one, you don’t want to miss out.
[ It’s a gel pen. The prize is a gel pen. ]
Also. Between the three of us, we should be able to cover the basics. But we’ll also be looking for volunteers to fill in the gaps. I’ve seen there’s a lot of interest in that already, which is. Um. Heartening.
So. If there are some special skills you’d like to share with the crew, we can help you to set up and schedule a class. Instructors will be run through a brief interview, to make sure you’re not like, a violently raging psychopath.
[ She holds up a finger, and abruptly winces. ]
On the violent psychopathy note, we do have a couple of combat trainers aboard? So anything related to self-defense, murder, or a combo of the two should be run through them and not us. I assume. I just got here.
I guess if you have any questions, you can ask them here. One of us will answer.

SO YOU WANT TO LEARN STUFF? Please fill out this form.
SO YOU WANT TO TEACH STUFF? Whoa, another form.
You can fill out both if you want!
We’ll go about putting together a class list, getting some IC classrooms, and all that as time allows. There’ll be a permanent signup link when that's settled, so don’t worry about it if you’re not down to clown just yet! ]]

Have you ever heard of thermite?

No. What is it? Is it cool? Will I care? What, what, what?

[ The actual proper title and public name vs. her given name. No one here is close enough to earn the right to use her given name. (That isn't how Inhumans do things anyway.)]
I am capable of teaching combat, but I will not waste my time doing so with anyone who does not require training in specialized, unique abilities. Someone else can bother with hand-to-hand and weaponry.

[ Someone's a hell of a lot scarier by video than text. Alice blinks, careful to take in her features, commit them to memory. ]
My bad. And it looks, um, like they've got people bothering with all the mundane stuff. By unique abilities, do you mean, like. Superpowers? Or...
[ She's careful to sound tentative, a little dubious. The character she's playing at has only been recently introduced to the concept. ]

[ Though in what context, she doesn't really care. But if Alice ever doubted there were a thing...she best start believing. It's only the smallness of the video screen that keeps from showing the relentless movement of Medusa's hair. ]

[ Her eyes dip away for a long moment, before Alice forces herself to look back at Medusa's face. ]
But given some of the people on this ship, I'm sure you wouldn't lack for any students. Can you, uh. How do you even train that kind of thing?
[ Brutally hard work, in her experience. But that comes with the territory. ]

If anyone wants to learn defense and survival techniques? That's what I do. But for the higher tier stuff, you're going to want a medic around. It's not easy.

Scenarios won't remain static, either. A repeat of the same program will provide different circumstances, including environmental obstacles.

[ Dodgeball isn't Alice's immediate interest, but it doesn't do to show that to the public network. Even if Miller's rapidly becoming the sort of contact she'd like to keep. ]
But no, that's cool. And then you work with them on... figuring out what to train? Or. I guess what I'm asking is if there's a minimum skill range to it all.

Alice? Did you just get here?
[She's beauty, she's grace, she's asking stupid questions all over the place.]
new immune system who dis (1/2)
I'm sorry, have we...?
[ She can't quite extinguish the flash of panic in her eyes (How many places have versions of her been?), but after a moment of slack-jawed staring, she at least remembers to look at the network nameplate.
Oh. But what the fuck? What happened to her face? Mask? Facemask. Whatever. Why does this version of Tali have a face??? ]
Uh.
2/2
...If I said the word 'haisuna', would that mean anything to you?
Re: 2/2

[ She's joking, though. Relief floods her voice: There's no good way to ask where someone's went, but she remembers Tali fondly. Alice can't say the same for everyone who could've ended up here. ]
I came through right as everyone started waving pitchforks. Ratchet said others were here, but I didn't.
[ She shakes her head, shakes the words from her mouth. I didn't think I'd ever see you again might as well be the entire ship's running refrain. ]
Man. When did you get in?

I've filled out both of the forms, but I was wondering who exactly the two combat trainers are? I have a lot of experience in hand to hand fighting and I'd like to help out there too, if I can.

[ A brief break in the message, as she checks back for the list. ]
Steve Rogers, Adaar, Kazuhira Miller, Fenris, Bucky Barnes, Link — and, uh. Jasper. I'd suggest contacting one of them.
It looks like Fenris and Jasper are the officers for that.

[He already knows Bucky, though he doesn't realise it as he was introduced under a different name.]
I think I spoke to Mr. Miller the other day, and maybe I'll try contacting one of the others to offer my help.

Good show! Oh, my goodness. This entire thing, just--- bloody good show. Bravo.

Alice blinks, stupidly, drawing her hands up in an unconsciously defensive gesture. The social reflexes of four years in an girls' dorm never really leave you. ]
Thanks? I try.
