I'm taking a break.
Spent the past month busting my ass to write a decent summary of... whatever happened on Thisavrou.
Got to the demons and decided I needed to write something else. And drink. A lot of drinking.
Something a little less bleak.
It's not like I have deadlines now.
So. Romance. Touched on it back on Kauto. Tentacles, aliens, all that. This time I'm going for something more subtle. Focus on something outside of, well, now.
Why does this kind of shit keep happening to us, by the way?
I have a plot set already, but I'm in a bit of a rut. Dashing protagonist has prostrated himself in a number of ways. Nothing is working, maybe he's even thinking, "shit, I shouldn't have done this."
Now I'm wondering if I've painted myself into a corner here. The only malleable character here is the hero -- I spent pages upon pages emphasizing how stubborn, strong-willed, maybe even afraid his interest is.
I can't back out on her.
At some point, though, it just gets old. The more he tries, the more nothing changes. And I don't think he's the type of guy to fight a losing battle.
So. Should he give up and go home, in order to salvage whatever it is that they have? Or should he keep trying?

Nate's dense, but at least he has an ounce of rationality.
Don't know if I can say the same for Chuckles.
I've pined after her like some sort of cheap harlequin protagonist for years. Maybe I need to let her go and take what I have.
Better than losing her for good.

But could you go back to being friends?
Knowing the pain you feel every time you see her and talk to her?

Sure. Once or twice.Redundancy kills interest though. readers will probably think anything after three tries is annoying

how do you think genre fiction keeps getting written?
people don't mind seeing the same thing over and over as long as it's interesting

It's a sex thing. Worry about it when you're older.
