First off, I believe I need to extend an apology to all of you for having been somewhat lacking in faculty at being faculty. Excuses be what they may--and I know the past several months have been a distraction, to say the least--I recognize that they do only extend so far.

That all said, with some very enthusiastic support, I think we may just be ready to get this school on its feet properly.

And yes, kids, I did say school.

I am hardly against the addition of one. [ A pause. ] What languages are you fluent in?

All of the living languages. Many that would currently be considered dead.

[ He knows enough French to pass through Europe on a quick vacation, as much German as he was ever able to pick up from Erik, and enough of the classics to get through denser texts lacking an accessible translation. But all of them?

[She will never understand why people think this is strange. Do humans not just learn all kinds of languages?? How do they communicate??? Her brows raise, and a small smile plays across her lips.]

My people were created to form a bridge to a greater understanding among all men. Devo conoscere le lingue.

[ He can parse enough of that to at least get an idea of what she's saying, but of anything he has learned (and Latin had been present in plenty), Italian had never been his forte. ]

Impressionnant. That's quite the extensive vocabulary.
