[Now that the fun of her "prize" for completing the trial is behind her, Clara's ready to focus on things that are important. Like work. The need to be constantly doing something and making herself useful keeps her going, and now that she's started her history project and her maps she figures she can take on one other task.

The only problem is, she's not really sure how this task will go over with the general public. Especially one particular subset of said public. So when she speaks, she looks a little unsure.]

Right, so, schooling. Figure we've all been here long enough now to establish something for the children. Or anyone else that wants to learn, I suppose. I taught seventh year English back in London, but am able to work with just about any level and subject matter.

[She pauses and her head tips to the side, fully expecting to be able to hear the collective screams of all the kids that are around. Her eyes glance away for a second, and when she looks back she's grinning. Surely she can get the kids on board with getting an education.]

Before, back on the Moira, I remember there being something similar in place. Anyone that'd like to assist with getting lessons up and going as soon as possible? Speak up so we can arrange a meeting. Doctor? I'd say you have a choice about helping, but 'fraid I won't go that far. You're already on my list.

I am afraid, my dear, that your patience is going to be tested quite a bit in that case. I would much prefer to show you. But until then: suffice it to say there is a part that is less communal than the rest.

My impatience only went so far as waiting to hear the information. Now that you've given it, I can bide my time well enough.

[ He's a bit wary, but... ]

How do you feel about dinner? Particularly, you and I having it. Together, at the same time. Obviously.

[magneticfields]

[ He smiles, amused. ]

Miss Oswald are you asking me on a date?

[ex_bossily211]

I know it's a bit backward, what with...things that've already been done. But yeah, suppose I am asking you on a date.

[Why is she nervously awkward right now? Ugh. She's the worst.]

Is that alright?

[magneticfields]

Of course it's alright. I would be delighted.

[ They could stand to do a little more talking, anyway. ]

[Her face lights up with a smile.]

I'll see about arranging something special then. Any requests?

[magneticfields]

All the arrangements? You don't trust my judgment? [ His eyebrow arches a bit. ] Something kosher. Or as close as you can manage. It's the thought that counts.

Course I trust your judgement. Which is a big deal, really, since I don't extend trust that easily.

[And if he needs something kosher, then that's exactly what he's going to get. ]

I just am not used to letting other people have control.

[Over things like dates.]

But if you like, feel free to surprise me with your judgement.

You flatter me. But I suppose I do perform adequately when you let me lead.

[ He's talking about sex. ]

In which areas will I be allowed to exercise this judgment?

[Yeah, she gets that he's talking about the sex so she just grins for a moment. She's trying to decide if she wants to keep the euphemism going.]

Everything. I want you to surprise me. Consider this me, completely trusting you.

[She may even let him lead with the sex that's sure to happen later.]

So you just asked me to take you on a date?

[ His brow furrows slightly, as he is genuinely confused. ]

[She really is awful at this. She bites at her lower lip to keep her from saying anything before she's thought it through.]

I asked you to dinner. I don't care who arranges what, just as long as it happens.

[There's a pause and then -]

I'm nervous trying to ask, in case it isn't obvious.

[magneticfields]

[ He actually feels bad for her. It wasn't his intention to make her feel awkward. ]

Let me make it easy, then. [ He checks his calendar, because the last thing he needs is some kind of Three's Company-style nonsense occurring in his otherwise very peaceful quarters. ]

Come over the day after tomorrow, 19:00. I will make risotto. We will have wine. Wear something nice.
