video | welcome waggoned
[A young woman appears on the screen, she’s pale, but the most striking feature about her would have to be the white streaks that frame her face, standing out in contrast from her otherwise brown hair. She gives a half-smile, and holds up a gloved hand in greeting.
When she speaks, her accent is a soft Southern, with a few New York quirks. She's lived there long enough to pick up a few vocal ticks.]
Hey, ya’ll. This is some nifty technology, ain't it? [Whew, ice broken.]
So I know some of everyone here happens to be from the same… worlds, I guess? Universe? So I just thought I’d ask… Does the letter X mean anything to you?
[She doesn’t want to come right out and announce to the whole place that she’s part of a group of mutants that sometimes go out and superhero. She doesn’t know what sort of people are here, what their prejudices might be. It’d be really stupid to come out and tell everyone she kills people when she touches them. That’d be a fast way to get herself airlocked, and she’d rather not experience that, thanks.
BUT if there are people here who are like her? She's not holding her breath for anyone she knows knows, but it'd be good to have a potential ally, should things go South.]
If it doesn't, no worries. I look forward to meeting ya'll. [There. She's putting herself out there. Logan would be so proud.]

[If they went back home But she was going to attempt to be just a little optimistic. ]
Some friends rescued me. [They were friends now- had been friends. Jean and Scott were dead. Ororo was not one of her favorite people right now. But Logan had been there, too. And he was the best friend she had right now.]
Yeah, I get what you mean.
Video
This was the sincerest reaction he has ever seen and he doesn't actually know what to do with someone who gives a damn about missing kids.)
It's...It's okay. They...(His voice is faint and he just stares. What did happen with all that?) I'm pretty sure they caught the guy who did it all. I think. It should be all over.
(Little does he know.
His expression smooths back out and he likes this girl, he decides. Anyone with friends good enough to rescue you was probably a good person.)
Do you have your friends here? The ones that helped you?
Video
Good. I hope he rots in hell. Anyone that tries to hurt kids deserves that and worse.
[She was firm in that belief.]
That's... what I'm trying to find out. I'm hoping they're here, but... I ain't gonna hold my breath.
Video
Again, Eddie is shocked. She even swore in front of him. Something loosens in Eddie. Despite not having his memories fully in tact, he has his feelings in tact and can't help but agree darkly.)
It deserves a lot worse, yeah.
(Eddie doesn't think about the choice of pronoun he went with. It felt more natural than saying 'he' though.
But there's another subject at hand and Eddie's leaning forward.)
Can I help you find them or anything? I got a bike and can cover a lot of ground.
Video
I would really appreciate that, sugar. But I don't want you getting lost on my account. Not if we don't even know if my friends are here, anyway.
[She pauses for a moment.] What's your name, by the way? I'm Rogue.
Video
Eddie can't help but to blush a tiny bit at being called 'sugar' by an older girl.)
I wouldn't get lost. I used to explore my town all the time by myself. (And with his friends but the point remains.) I'll bike this place enough that I'll know it like the back of my hand.
(He's not even trying to impress her- he really will. What else has he got to do?)
...True. I could keep an eye out though for anyone who might seem familiar?
(Oh, yeah, names. Eddie smiles at the camera and gives a short wave.)
Eddie Kaspbrak. Rogue? (He blinks and angles his head, brows furrowed up together.) Is that your your name? I thought that was like- what girls put on their faces.
(That's rouge but hey. Close enough?)
Video
You could- A bald man in a wheelchair, this surly Canadian man with hair kinda like this- [Here Rogue does her best to indicate bristly mutton-chops and pointy hair that her dad/bff/mentor/crush had.] Uhm... Other people look kinda normal, but if anyone's from Westchester, New York, that's a big help.
[She doesn't expect them to be here, nor does she expect Eddie to actually go out and try to find these people.] I'd be happy to look out for any of your friends, too. [Least she could do.]
Nice t'meet you, Eddie. Yeah, that's my name, just Rogue. [It was actually Anna Marie, but she really was only okay with one person in the world calling her Marie. Said aforementioned Canadian.] You're thinking of rouge, which is French for red.
Video
Only a Canadian would have hair like that. (He's never even seen someone in a wheelchair so that would be pretty easy to find too, he thinks.) Westchester, New York? I'm from Derry, Maine. (They were practically neighbors.
Eddie would though. Maybe not actively look for them, but he would keep an honest eye out for anyone who sounded like what she described.
As for his friends....Eddie looks suddenly a little bit eager, pushing towards the camera.) Really? Jee, thank you. They're pretty obvious. Bill is a normal looking kid but he opens his flap and will s-s-stutter r-re-real b-bad like that. Richie looks like a moron with glasses that makes his eyes huge and he won't be able to shut up and stop making dumb jokes. Stan's- he's Jewish. And quiet. He's got scars on his face. Mike's black and he's really- he's the biggest of us. Muscle wise, anyway, because Ben's the biggest of us but fat wise- but he's a good guy. They all are.
(His memory has already forgotten Bev, as she had left, so he doesn't even think to mention her, tragically. He was close to forgetting his friends too- but just didn't know it yet.)
Oh, oh yeah, I am. Rouge. (He says it a bit too dramatically but hey. He's doing his best.) French for red. That's kind of cool.
(He still came from an America that demanded Americans speak "American". He mouths the word again in his mind and thinks to use it later to impress his friends if they ever show up.)
Video
That's cool- I don't think I've met anyone from Maine before.
[Rogue nods, and listens to the way he describes all of his friends. Far more descriptive than the ones she'd given him, actually, and she was pretty sure that most of these kids would be easy to spot.] Got it.
[She nods.] Yeah. But Rogue means something completely different. Means something like 'rascal' or 'troublemaker'.
Video
Leave it to a kid to get overexcited about explaining his friends. That and he sort of knows the importance of descriptions when it comes to looking out for people.)
It's kind of a shit hole. (There were a lot of weird things that happened in Maine.
Eddie tips his head, brows raised and frankly, he looks a little impressed.)
Are you a trouble maker?
Video
[Westchester was better.]
Well... [she glances around her surreptitiously, then looks at Eddie.] Just a bit.
[Not as much anymore, but she still had her rebellious streak.]
Video
Eddie cracks a wide grin. He looks even further impressed. Eddie had so much trouble rebelling against people that he always admired those who could. They always became something of heroes to him- well, so long as they were decent people too.)
I'm not too much, but I have my moments. I like to think I'm unsuspecting.
(Is he trying to impress her? Probably. Impressing teenagers was a very important facet of a young boy's life, after all.)
Video
So, yes, the last person you'd expect to be a troublemaker.]
I think I can see that. [She smirks at him.]
