[The man on the video is blue skinned with glowing blue eyes and in armor that bears military markings. Over his shoulder a small white machine floats, periodically tilting towards him and then away as if to look out at something, in contrast to the blue man whose eyes don't move from the screen, and in fact the look is rather intense.]

In what time I have been here, I will admit the peace is appreciated. Where I am from, even without a direct threat, there would still be excitement born from competition among each other. To say that I find this peace unusual, but welcomed would not be a lie.

[And before he continues he looks over at his Ghost, giving the white machine a glare as if to forestall any comments from it before looking back.]

However, as I have yet to find any fellow Guardians in the time this peace provides me between the duties I was assigned [such a nice way to say he works in the library], I feel almost negligent in that task. So to any Guardians that are here, this is Commander Zavala asking you all to report in. [And he probably couldn't sound any more formal if he tried.]

[There is absolutely no one else that he knows who would open up what sounds like a preamble to a grand speech for something that basically amounts to a "holla if any Guardians be all up in here."

And that one person is someone that Cayde had previously not been aware was here. ...he's having mixed feelings about this.

While it's not immediately that Zavala gets a response, the Exo Hunter does eventually open up a line to the Titan's posting. The first thing Zavala will see is Cayde applauding. Golf-clap style.]

That. Has got to be the shortest I've ever heard you address anyone. There's hope for you yet, Zavala.

[Like let's be honest here, considering who all mentored him in his younger years is it really a surprise he's long winded? Zavala is convinced Saladin would be proud he kept himself short here okay.

But of course the one person that answers so far from home, happens to be the one that would somehow avoid his notice. Somehow. If he didn't know better he'd say it's because Cayde's magic.

The clapping so gets a glare though, which totally hides any sort of surprise he has.]

There is hardly any point in speaking further on anything until I have more information, Cayde. I hardly see the point in explaining further unless someone shows an interest.

[And also because talking about Titans and their glory and the Vanguard probably won't get him very far here, plus there's power in information. But y'know, he's not going to say that.]

Though if you are responding, I should hope you have something to report. [Hi Cayde, how are you? How's life been? Did ya keep the honor of the Vanguard pure and such?]

Gee, it's so nice to see you too.

[The sarcasm, it is in full.]

Really though. That's it? I'm gone for two months and you're not yelling at me for two hours? ...are you the real Zavala? You don't have black eyes so you can't be one of them freaky doubles that were running around here a few weeks ago.

[If you wanted a cuddly Titan, Cayde, go find Shaxx and let him hug you. At least he's got fur.]

You haven't been gone two months, just two minutes from the Tower. [If that really.] I hardly see the point-- [Wait a minute, back up. Hold on.]

Two months. You've been here two months. [He says it all slowly and with some underlying current of "are you telling me the truth or should I get ready to come over there and punch you?"]

[Shudder.]

[Wait for it, wait for it- ah, there it is.]

Two months. [He holds up two fingers, just in case Zavala wants a visual. One-two.] Wish I could say it's been a lovely vacation, but I wouldn't go so far. And look, if you don't believe me, you can ask my Ghost.

[If Zavala looks confused it's because he is. He sees the fingers, but ends up looking from the Exo's fingers to his Ghost as if to question his judgement before that confusion is at least, well somewhat gone.]

I would call it a bluff but I doubt even you would do such a thing. [Okay, he'll believe you, for now.] Leave it to you however, to consider being away from the Tower as a vacation.

[Annnnd now it's all judgement.]

[The red and gray ghost tilts forward and back in a slight nod.]

No bluff. It's been a...very interesting time here.

[Cayde snorts at the Titan's response.]

Can you blame me? Anyway, it's not like it was my choice to be pulled through time-space and get stuck here.

'Guardians'. I'm familiar with that term.

It's a particularly common term for certain groups, I imagine.

[He's particularly dry as he says that, and his Ghost does it's best to glare at him for it, which isn't really successful when it's got one eye but points for effort, before looking at Elena.]

What the Commander means to ask, is in what context are you familiar with the term?

Not where I'm from, no.

[ So then she's speaking to two. Wonderful. ]

I spoke with someone a few weeks back. He mentioned the term and gave some explanation on it. It almost sounds like you're part of the same...group, is it?

[The siren song of 'commander' drags in Kaz's attention. Military people are always good to have around. The moment he sees the Ghost, though? He figures he's from Cayde's world.]

I've seen someone here with one of those.

I'm Commander Kazuhira Miller. Unfortunately here, I'm just a restaurant owner. You tend to get some downgrades.

[He's gotten used to unusually colored people, but those are some impressive eyes. Rather than be reminded of something else a lot more sinister (the resemblance to Parasite Unit soldiers is subtly there), it's like Zavala pulls off being the exact opposite (it's the confidence in his speech really).]

[If there's one thing Zavala's good at it's confidence. Comes from being knocked around by two Titans that like the Crucible too much as a young Guardian. If it impresses someone or puts them at ease or something, he's glad he's still got it going okay.

The title drop of "commander" though instantly wins Miller points. Not that Zavala has a bias but you know, there's something to be said for hearing someone with a similar title and what in general it means.]

So I have noticed, Commander Miller. [It's said with something like distaste, if only because being here means being away from his duties at home and not that he finds his assignment by the locals not to his liking.

Those blue eyes narrow though at the comment about "seeing one of those", and considering it's only him and his Ghost he figures it's a good guess on his part.]

You mean my Ghost? [Said little machine floats by the screen as if to make sure, even if it means crossing in front of Zavala's face for a moment.]

Can I ask who you saw it with? [It's a request, because Miller's a fellow commander and there's a certain amount of automatic respect there.]

His name was Cayde. Appeared to be some sort of machine. [That ate food, he guesses? That was bizarre.] I've assumed he's not a machine in the traditional sense, at least. But he was accompanied by a Ghost.

[And he nods forward, trying to indicate the screen and Zavala's Ghost with the gesture.]

Are you going to go with a chosen job or look for a new one for now?

[Zavala, he has to note, has a wonderful command voice. He's probably A+ rank at raising troop morale with that.]
