[On June 24th, another official video message appears on the network, once again showing ambassador Daniel Wright. He looks significantly more solemn this time around, and perhaps a little less well-rested.]

Hello everyone. This is Daniel Wright with the CCOA again. I’m afraid I have some troubling news. [A glance offscreen.] Over the past couple of days, several Created have gone missing. There was a pattern of property damage involved with each of these cases, though thankfully no one was injured. The circumstances surrounding these disappearances… well, it’s like nothing we’ve seen before. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of so many disappearances in such a short amount of time.

[His expression grows apprehensive. He takes a breath as if to steel himself.] Unfortunately, given the timing of all this, I’ve been asked to pass on this mandate to all offworld visitors to Eastgate: you are all required to report to CCOA headquarters for questioning and, if applicable, code checks. Once we find out who or what is responsible for these disappearances, you will all be free to go. Until then, nobody is allowed to depart through the Ingress.

[He sighs.] I’m very sorry about this, but these circumstances are highly unusual and I’m afraid it’s only logical to suspect that there was an offworld influence involved. If you cooperate with our investigation, I’m sure you’ll all be released shortly.

As one of the individuals who will be stuck here for the foreseeable future, I don't suppose you could offer us a bit more clarification on exactly what happened?

I might be able to offer insight on potential suspects. Travelers to EC worlds are diverse, but the group is relatively small. We tend to know each other.

[There’s a pause and then Daniel sighs.]

Well, I suppose details will be hitting the media soon enough anyway.

Nine Created have gone missing in the past two days: six Programs and three AI. Same pattern each time: Creators returned home to find their Program’s charging station smashed to pieces, AI storage units stolen, and the Program missing. No signs of forced entry, either.

[Daniel runs a hand through his hair.] You can see why we’d suspect offworlders. It isn’t like an unaltered human could do that kind of damage to a charging station and our Programs certainly can’t either.

Above all, we just want to make sure our Created can return home safe and unharmed. At least with nobody leaving through the Ingress, we can make sure they won’t be shipped offworld.

Any idea why they'd smash the charge stations?

[ If the intention was smuggling people through the Ingress, that particular bit seems a bit strange. Leaving everything as is would buy far more time.

The fact that the timing coincided with the Ingress opening here seemed more like a mislead. ]

And if the information isn't classified, is there any connection between any of these cases? What function did these AI and Programs have? What is the history between the affected Creators and Created?
