Helloooooo ladies, dudes, and various other genders, identities, and lifeforms! Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't, my name is Lance, and today I am comin' at you with some ice breakers! A couple of my friends who shall remain nameless but know who they are are really bad at socializing and are in need of new friends. And I figure, if they are, there's gotta be other people out there who are just as bad, right?

So here's the deal! I'm gonna read some questions, and you guys can answer them! And then you gotta talk to two people you don't already know. I don't count, but talk to me anyway!

Go into as much detail with these as you can want, because they're gonna help you make new friends.

[ He clears his throat, and starts reading. ]

Number one! If you were a vegetable, what vegetable would you be?
Number two, if you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Three, what are your top ten favorite foods?
Four, share a description of your favorite material object that you already own, and share why it's important to you.
Annnd five! What color do you think best represents you, and how does being that color make you feel?

[ He takes a second to copy and paste the same questions in a text format along with his video for ease of answering, then grins into the camera again. ]

Everyone got that? Cool, now go meet somebody!

[That gets Wanda's full attention, since she's been waking up inside of a snowdrift for the last several days.]

A blizzard?

With snow in your eyebrows and wind roaring in your ears and visibility of zero?

Pretty much! It's amazing how precipitation can come from such a little thing.

That's impressive.

You must like blizzards a lot... Or you might be working on changing the weather in bigger areas some day? [That seems relevant to the current situation on Kauto, if it were weather in general being put under control, but also like a big undertaking.]

I like cold weather. Snow is fun! But yes, I wanted to see what I could do with such a thing. It could work to change the environment, or put out small fires, or even as a weapon. Freeze your enemies, you know? It's promising to know I can create something with a big impact from something so small.

Snow is fun. [Wanda smiles at the enthusiasm, and leans in a little, and admits--] I have had a surprising amount of fun in the snow recently.

And if you can put out fires... [Her face goes still as she thinks about the recent fire that caused a lot of damage in her Region 3 neighborhood.] That would be an excellent thing. I think the world would flock to your door.

[She considers the final application with a little wariness, though.] Have you made a lot of enemies?

Good! I love making snow angels and building snowmen!

[ She shrugs a little. ]

I would be willing to hand over my notes to make one, if I knew it was going to the right people. As to that, I don't think I've made many enemies personally, but it's possible I could be lumped in with others that I used to work with.

[ She's honestly not sure she can say more than that. When 76 revealed to her that he was actually Jack, he told her he believed there was some sort of conspiracy going on with the fall of Overwatch. It doesn't sound crazy, seeing how she was forgotten about down in Antarctica and the other Ecopoints were all forgotten too. Someone wanted their work in climatologist suppressed, so maybe she is a target. ]

What about jumping in snow drifts?

[Wanda's playfulness falls quickly into an expression of seriousness, though, as she considers that, and then she shakes her head regretfully.] I wish I knew who were the right people.

[And she gives a little grimace at the idea of unknown enemies. Or maybe at the idea of people that one used to work with, she has some mixed feelings there too.] I hope that you are never surprised by sudden enemies.

Absolutely!

[ Mei's very playful herself. And it's hard to get her out of the spirit. ]

Oh, thank you, that's very kind! I'm Mei, and you?

It's nice to meet you, Wanda! Did you fill out this questionnaire too?

I did. Not entirely seriously...

Oh, I'll bet you weren't the only one! I found it a fun challenge to try, but questions about vegetables and colors don't really seem to reveal anything deep about myself.

No, it is not a very good indicator of what someone is like, to know what vegetable they will claim to resemble, if they claim any at all.

But I think it is likely that fewer people would reply at all if the question was to tell everyone about a deep secret.

Hmm, good point! And I suppose this does get you thinking, even if it is to make up joke answers, right?

I did think about the question of who I would want to meet.

Oh, yeah? Who did you say?

In the end, I decided on the president of my country during a war that shaped the way things would be for half a century, but it was pretty close between her and one of the legendary rulers of my country.

It's funny, I am not a leader, but I want to talk to leaders.

Oh, yeah! I don't envy leaders their job and the decisions they have to make. But do you think she would want to discuss her decisions with you? It seems like something she would either try and justify, or want to put behind.

I am not looking for justifications, or to force her to talk to me. But perhaps she would like to talk to someone from her future who loves the same country and is interested in the things that she did and the part that she played in history.

Unless she shows up from the Ingress, it is only a thought exercise.

That's a good point! Maybe she would want to know.

But yeah, that's true. But it was the point of all these questions, right? A thought exercise that puts us out there for others to talk to.

I don't really know. I only thought it was a nice distraction.

Oh, well that too! I guess it's whatever you want to use it as. It's been nice talking to you, even if it's a distraction.

Sometimes a distraction is needed, more than anything else.

But maybe there is not much difference between a distraction and being out there to talk?

Yeah, if it's small talk. You know, the simple getting to know you stuff. Talking with a deeper purpose wouldn't be what I'd consider a distraction.

No, not a distraction then. Do you have a deeper purpose?
