Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't, my name is Lance, and today I am comin' at you with some ice breakers! A couple of my friends who shall remain nameless but know who they are are really bad at socializing and are in need of new friends. And I figure, if they are, there's gotta be other people out there who are just as bad, right?

So here's the deal! I'm gonna read some questions, and you guys can answer them! And then you gotta talk to two people you don't already know. I don't count, but talk to me anyway!

Go into as much detail with these as you can want, because they're gonna help you make new friends.

[ He clears his throat, and starts reading. ]

Number one! If you were a vegetable, what vegetable would you be?
Number two, if you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Three, what are your top ten favorite foods?
Four, share a description of your favorite material object that you already own, and share why it's important to you.
Annnd five! What color do you think best represents you, and how does being that color make you feel?

[ He takes a second to copy and paste the same questions in a text format along with his video for ease of answering, then grins into the camera again. ]

So, two things. First, we're definitely going to that beach planet as soon as these stupid travel decontamination things are over with. It's not Earth, so it's not the same, but it'll have to do.

Pretty sure this is only the kind of stuff Lance thinks about.

[ He chews his lip, genuinely thinking hard about it for a minute. ]

Okay, you know when you look out into space, when we're in the Castle, and it's just like... forever, stretched out in front of you? That makes me feel the same way as looking out over the ocean.

[That makes Pidge's head tilt slightly, eyes going wide.]

Overwatch? I've never heard of that before. Is it like... a global security operation of some kind?

Sometimes it's like he's speaking a different language.

[Her mouth totally watered. But at least she's not outwardly drooling yet.] That seriously sounds so good right now.

Peanut butter cookies are one of my favorites. But you can't really go wrong with chocolate chip.

That's not the same thing!

[ Keith looks thoughtful, too. Lance being serious like this is... he's seen it before, but it's never anything but strange. ]

Yeah, okay. I get that. The desert was kinda like that too, but— not always in a good way. Space is better.

He'd probably get the point of the vegetable question.

... But I still think the vegetable question is weird.

[ This is the baffled, uncomprehending stare of someone trying to work out how avocados can possibly be a replacement for dairy. He's... not so good in the kitchen. Is he being pranked? ]

Yeah, okay, you do get what I mean. [ He looks relieved, and maybe a little embarrassed. ] Space makes me miss the ocean, though.

[ Keith huffs quietly. ]

Sounds like you'll never be happy.

Which reminds me. Botanically speaking, the difference is seeds.

Botanically speaking, a fruit is a seed-bearing structure that develops from the ovary of a flowering plant. Vegetables are all the other plant parts; the roots, leaves and stems. By those standards, seedy outgrowths like apples, squash and, yeah, tomatoes are all fruits. Roots like beets, potatoes and turnips, or leaves - like spinach, kale, lettuce - or stems - like celery and broccoli... Those are all vegetables.
