My name is Kazuhira Miller. I've been around for a while, and mostly I've been focusing on building my own small business. But I have noticed that there are a good number of us that, while there are some general assignments the Savrii provide for extra wages, still don't have a good use for our talents, so I'm gauging interest for a project. [There's a splash of water and a clank of glasses. Ignore him, he's multi-tasking.]
What I'm proposing, and what I will bring before the Savrii if there's adequate interest, is a Rescue and Recovery program. With Ingress activity having the potential to go awry or with natural disasters in Ingress accessible worlds, or allying worlds that might need to call on us for help, some people with appropriate skills could go on rescue missions. Especially when there are children or endangered animals at risk. It wouldn't matter if it was a complete disaster or a low grade backyard rescue. We have a lot of people and a lot of resources for it.
It would require investors, donations, part-time or volunteer work. People willing to offer medical facilities for recovery, since it wouldn't really be fair of us to rescue someone and then charge them for the retrieval.
[If you run that kind of business then you ask for the money up front.]
Also people actually going into these situations would be deserving of hazard pay. Even for a less than strenuous mission.
And... I was thinking- [here's the catch] -the best way to draw attention to the need for money in this sort of venture would be some sort of regular broadcast. I'm not sure how shows [television? hologram? How do semi-future planet media] work here exactly but that's something I would need more information on and another reason this project would require more than one handler. [And there goes the clank of some plates.]
I've not received any approval for the project but I thought I would gauge interest. [And a metallic clatter and crash in the background.] Shi- [Cut off silence. After a beat?] Let me take care of this and then I'll be back.
Does anyone here know how to fix the lid to a futuristic industrial dishwasher? That I can pay for myself.

Ah, hello! I am quite interested in this development. I currently reside on Chioni, specifically to study and observe the wildlife!

Glad to know someone's on board. [He started this for his business partner, since he knows that said business partner isn't so much made for running diners or even that fond of weapons sales. But this, this is something that could genuinely make people that need to step away from their mundane work every once in a while happy.]
I would assume wildlife might be under domestic threats there, too.
[He keeps to audio, mostly because he doesn't want anyone to see the mess of water he's having to clean up. Unfortunately it can be very faintly heard in the background. The slop of a rag and then the quick drips of it being wrung out.]
[locked six ways from Sunday]
[locked and then some.]
There's a few logistics I'm definitely concerned about. One is that I've had very good experience with a particular brand of fulton recovery, and if this came through I would like to utilize that. However I'm not sure who to go for R&D in creating a new model.
Another is that we would need some way to link up operatives and dispatchers. When I ran missions before we were able to use them but with some difficulty. There would need to be something more reliable.
[And hopefully a prelude to a communications system that would be more difficult to monitor.]
There's a lot more. It's still just an idea. I don't even know if the Savrii would allow for this. [But considering they threw them under the bus for the duels, they should.]

I volunteer for saving animals. Not humans, though. They can go fuck themselves.
And I could maybe fix your lid if you can figure out how to unplug it.

And that's fine. [Rescuing animals specifically doesn't go against Kaz's vague morality.] We had a lot of success with recovering animals from war zones. I suspect there would be a lot of interest in that.

Also, I realize that children and animals have great significance, but I'd like to suggest rescue of innocent programs or artificial life when possible as well.
[Users always forget programs. Yori's not offended, but maybe if she reminds them they'll consider it once in a while.]

But a good number don't come with legs.
Any sort of help would go a long way. Part of what I wanted to provide was a sort of aftercare for victims, too. When I grew up in Japan, there were a lot of victims of various bombings that needed more care than they were able to receive at the time. As important as the rescues are, making sure they survive afterwards is equally important.
No rule against repairing AIs.

I think it's important that they do. Rescuers know the most about what they can handle. Areas, weight restrictions, tools necessary.
And I generally wouldn't want to be rescued by someone that hated me.

[Because low grade backyard rescue, it's too precious? You are definitely all of those things Dorian was blathering on about when he was too smashed to even be appropriately ashamed of his behavior.]
Use me Kazuhira, as ever. I have an Apothecary and it is well supplied with potions, tonics, and grenades...I suppose it can also serve as a small scale recovery facility if I can get my hands on some bedrolls or cots.
[It's not massive enough to serve a crowd of people, a dozen at most.
As for your dishwasher...Dorian can't help with that sady...he could probably set it on fire.]
no subject
[That's as good enough excuse as any.]
I'm still very impressed you can make grenades.

I believe I might be of help. I may not be the best for the rescue part but I'm sure my telepathy could prove useful in locating anyone that's lost.

[But Miller is also a man that loves passionately and vibrantly and doesn't go in halves for his emotions, and he has someone close to him who would very much like a way for them to do the right thing.]
That would be, thank you.
[He spoke with Kurt about it, but he's glad for some telepaths that don't hook into vengeful minds.]
How do you feel about interviews if the broadcast pans out? [Kaz can make a hell of a sales pitch or a motivational speech or occasionally even a useful infodump, but all of this is practiced. Being questioned on events for public use without adequate preparation makes him a little doubting of his success. And Charles has a good voice and, frankly, a good face for it.]

Or those that can't at all. We were once hired to rescue animals in warzones [which is what actually led to the idea] and we took it upon ourselves to save child soldiers. They can't really decide to ask for help.
