[ the feed flickers once, twice, before it settles on Thisavrou's latest Turian resident. ]
I have heard of machine-gods that could harvest entire civilizations and render them into nothingness in nanoseconds, or even create a symbiotic relationship between machines and organics...but I have never heard of the likes of machinery that could resuscitate the dead.
Yet, I am led to believe the technology here is so highly advanced that it is as common as any other glitch in a program. Is that right?
[ here, Saren pauses, clearly disbelieving. ]
I seek more credible answers, which surely someone must have uncovered by now. Is there more to how we arrived here? What is known about our gracious hosts, is there information regarding them or their government?
Humans are known for their arrogance and non-compliance. I cannot imagine that all of you have been content to act as no better than cogs in a machine, submitting so that our gracious hosts could reap the benefits of your contribution.

Humans suck, so I hear you on that. Are you a colony overlord? Is that a thing in your corner of space?
no subject
But no, I am not a ruler. I am part of Special Tactics and Reconnaissance.

So what does that do? You invade other planets and shoot them up, take all their resources? It sounds cliche but there's a reason they're cliches, right? That stuff happens.

That sort of behavior is more comparable to your typical mercenary. Spectres are a far more elite group tasked with defending intergalactic stability. We are responsible for stopping the species that, as you say, "invade other planets and shoot them up". Spectres are entrusted with free reign of Council Space, so we act as we see fit to curb threats.
[ basically, enforcing galactic peace. does that sound like a weird job description for this ray of sunshine? probably. ]

[ Frankly this is the most depressing news he's ever heard of, and he's from a world where clones have clones of their own, strictly dedicated for mass-producing spare parts. ]
You mentioned machine gods. What else can they do? Can they make entire bodies out of scratch?

[ Here, Saren scoffs, which shows how little he thinks about them. ]
Spectres are agents who are above such typical law and order. We work alone. Our methods are often criticized because there is little restriction in what we can do, but the Council only cares about the results we achieve.
[ Saren pauses, wonders if he should answer the question before continuing on. ]
You're the first to ask. They are harvesters and enslavers. They do not create their own resources, since they can reprogram organic bodies to suit their needs.

[ Tetora's not stupid. There is, however, a particular joy in acting like a brash youngster; it's the reason he got away with bombing an entire building full of government officials in the first place. No one really thinks the teenager with the backpack is thinking of mass murder, after all. ]
...So all that power and they never thought to be self-sustaining?
