Hullo! It is good to make your acquaintance, allow me to introduce myself, I am Ardyn Lucis Caelum! I hail from Eos and come, no doubt equivalently to some of you, from far and beyond this realm! Even still, I find myself somewhat astounded by the reality of this situation! Call it jet-lag, perhaps, .. I wonder, will my head ever come down from the clouds? Hmm!

[ He softly chuckles. ] Ah, well! If any of you could be so kind and share with me some of your stories of acclimation? I would welcome any tales of experience to remedy that dreadful disconnect!

What's it like, on a typical day?

[Definitely leaning more towards "interested" now, in spite of the flatness of his tone.]

Oh–– yes, of course!

It is beautiful, truly a sight. There, cast with the sun's early light, a landscape of high rock formations, mountain ranges, thick lush trees, a desert terrain, ancient formations of civilizations long passed and underground catacombs; there is so much rich history and magic.

Gods from the stars descended upon earth, each in favor of one element over the other, forming the landscape with their breath, protecting the lands with their strengths.. bodies still regarding us as we hustle along our lives, and we are ants in comparison to their bodies.

Each region comes with its own temperament to each new season and the beasts that roam the land are both dangerous and beautiful for their evolution.. and the air is crisp and clean, plentiful.. A typical day? It can be quite the adventure for someone who sees past themselves and onto the world so eager to show them a day unparalleled to any day before in their mundane routine.

Yes, yes. I suppose the trivial obligation is mundane enough to keep me grounded. It is something, this world-traveling is quite the extraordinary escapade. I would have never thought I would have such a fate, here.. in a whole new world.

[ .... There's a small pause before he chuckles. ] Ah, meaning that such a thing as paying a house note compared to space traveling seems so trivial! It's a nice balance to start with, indeed.

Well as spacey as you are about it, wouldn't hurt to get a job real quick-- what'd you do back home?

Oh, I believe that would be the less of it! [ Ardyn gently chuckles. ] No, .. no, I am sure there is much much more.. as briefed upon my arrival. Although, I have to say.. the medical examination was quite something.

Evidently! It was all I could say to keep them from prodding me too much! Such instruments, however, I find fascinating! It is much different than a healer's touch I would know from home.

Did you find the medical procedure to be somewhat similar or familiar at all?

He only saw the Empire's Chancellor briefly on the television but he saw quite more than he ever wanted to at the peace (what a joke) treaty signing. Ardyn was impossible to miss with that huge black wing and all that ridiculous fluffy hair.

But his surname sure as hell has not been Lucis Caelum and that he would have the audacity to take the name here is absurd! More than that, so highly disrespectful that Nyx is quickly working himself up into an outright disgusted rage about it.

He knows he should wait and cool off before responding but he just can't, not after hearing this bull--

As his face appears, all that torment and anger are right there for Ardyn to see.]

Ah, Nyx! Nyx? Nyx.... Ulric! Ah, that's right. What was it--Hero of the Kingsglaive!? Indeed, seeing such a face here brings me both delight and––

Well, I will be heavy-hearted to say .. disappointed.. Such a bright light lost in all of the chaos. [ He lowers his head with a soft frown to his lips. It truly is so terrible! Ardyn wears a heavy frown. ] We have more in common than you might think.

Alas, to your concern, I am Ardyn Lucis Caelum. I assure you, misrepresented as I was.. My true identity is that of the Lucis Caelum line.

[He's shaking his head the whole time this bastard is talking. When he's done, Nyx points at the TAB's display and the volume of his voice only raises.]

You're full of it! That's not possible. If you were part of the Lucis line you wouldn't have destroyed their home, you wouldn't have been a part of killing the King! You would have had some loyalty, some honor, instead of helping the Empire!

[It's unnerving that the Chancellor knows him by name but for right now he's not going to think about that too much. He's getting far too worked up over defending the honor of his slain King and the Prince and Princess he worked so hard to aid.]

[ Ardyn is quiet while Nyx expresses his frustration and spoiled point of view. ]

My story is long and twisted, my fate cruel and my demise long-deserved. Take peace, where you can, hero. Know that Eos rises each morning with a new dawn's light and its people unburdened with the darkness of daemons and liberated from the plaguing star scourge.

Yet all that has come to pass, all that you knew and know.. it is but a small part of the entire story and yet necessary.

[ He lifts his hand up and grips his hat before taking it off to show Nyx that bit of respect as he continues with: ]

The kings of old.. [ Ardyn lowers his head and with a soft shake heavy with pity. ] They do not cherish the world as you and I. We, their people, sustain meaning and life.. but a time had come where they have grown disconnected from the living and fester amongst one another in their death. I have never, in all my years, seen the power you evoked that night.. and I stand here before you in awe.

But when I went through the Ingress it was onto a spaceship so I don't think my acclimation story will be quite like yours.

It's a very long and complicated story. Let's just say I was dead, wasn't too happy about being dead, found a way to fix that, and then... something happened and I ended up here.
