[Video] Time for a free skate!
[Elsa is a young blonde woman in a shimmering blue dress. From the lighting and the light breeze blowing tiny wisps of her hair across her pale face, it's obvious that she's outside. Her smile might strike very astute observers as slightly nervous, but she's doing her best for her message to seem warm.]
Hello, everyone!
I have a job! I'm managing A Rinkle in Time for the owner, Jim. He's very nice.
Now, I don't know if you've ever skated on ice before, but I wanted to invite you to come by. If you can see this message, you can get in for free once in the next two weeks -- just mention Elsa's Invitation at the door. We're in the Time District, and we look like this. [She holds the TAB out so that the eye of the camera shows the building before returning to her face.] If you don't know how to skate, come anyway! I'll cover the cost of your first lesson. We also have other games you can play, and we have skates to fit just about anyone, trust me.
[What she means is that if they don't have skates in someone's size, she'll create a pair with magic, even if they're for one of Riptide's friends and have to be the size of a sled. And if someone falls... well, if she's able to, she'll try to cushion their fall in a way they might not expect.]
[As she continues to talk, her expression sobers.]
One more thing. I've been told that I was on the Moira with you all, but I'm very sorry… I don't remember it. Still… if we were friends then, we can be friends again now. If you don't want to skate, maybe you'd like to have tea?
[Another smile, nervous again, and then a quick nod, and the video feed ends.]
[Note: Elsa will keep video format in replies, but that doesn't mean anyone else has to! If there's any interest, I'll throw up a log in a few days.]

Man, I haven't ice skated since I was like fourteen. [Since he has yet to wake up from this bizarre dream, or have anyone jump out and yell PSYCH, and his Corridors won't take him home, he has to presume that that really does mean he's stuck here for the time being. Might as well enjoy it.] Dare I see if I still can, and risk breaking my stupid ankles?
no subject
You should definitely try it. I promise to personally make sure that you don't break your ankles.
How long has it been since you were fourteen?
no subject
[He chuckles softly, though.]
I guess if I've got your personal guarantee my ankles'll stay intact, what've I got to lose? 'Elsa', was it? [He wags a finger.] I'm holding ya to it!
no subject
Do you have any friends you'd like to bring with you?
[She'll have to stay on her toes if more than one person needs an impromptu snowdrift!]
no subject
[A shake of his head then.]
Ah, nope, just me for the time being. I haven't been here that long, so I dunno too many people yet, and nobody well, really. If somebody else shows up and needs a lesson, though, I promise I know how to share.

[Because if that's the case, boy does she have a treat for you.]

no subject
We have this, too.
Are you used to skating?
no subject
No, I'm not used to skating.
video
I'm down for this! I'm down for this right now! I even have my own skates!
no subject
[Elsa doesn't sound very deterred by his enthusiasm, though.]
Your own skates! How much have you skated in the past? You sound very experienced.
no subject
[he grins, so proud of them.]
What about you, Miss Elsa?
no subject
[That's a long explanation that she isn't volunteering yet: she just doesn't slip on ice. And that makes her wonder...]
Light tech...? How does that work? It sounds really interesting.
no subject
It's hard light, so instead of using metal for the skates, it uses... well, light. Light doesn't tend to get caught on stuff, so!

[There were lessons though -- that was what the woman said. And even though Angel could barely walk, she found herself over the moon at the idea of trying to skate.]
How hard is it to learn, if you don't mind me asking?
no subject
[But Elsa's gaze is friendly and curious: there's nothing in her reaction that would deter anyone from skating.]
But if I'm around when you're learning, it probably won't be too hard. I can't guarantee that you'll be able to pick it up, but I'll try to help you. I can almost guarantee that you won't get hurt if you fall.
[Because you will land in an impromptu snowbank!]
no subject
That's good to know. Especially the part about not getting hurt. I am... rather good at falling down. [Technically, the term was collapsing from exhaustion, but Elsa didn't need to know that. Probably.]
no subject
[That makes her miss Anna for a minute, a sharp little pang that she pushes aside; her gaze becomes momentarily unfocused, but a moment later, she's back in the present and reinforcing her soft smile. What she can do for Angel is, maybe, a pair of skates with double blades, something that would give her a little more stability to start with.]
Have you ever played in the snow?
no subject
[As was admitting to all the things she had never done.]
No I haven't. I've seen it [Through video feeds.] but I've never played in it before.
