[When the TAB first flickers to life, all that's visible is an intricately scarred cheek with just the slightest peek of ivory fangs past blue lips. There's the faint sound of something shifting about and finally, Kurt comes into full view.

He's sitting on the edge of an old stone fountain, his tail swishing back and forth behind him, a grin plastered across his face.] I know very little about this holiday, but I've read a few things in an attempt to try and understand better.

[Meaning that he has forgone all the really romantic and couple-esque things about 'Valentine's Day' or whatever they would be calling it on Thisavrou.]

Giving chocolate to someone you like is traditional and I have more than a few friends and other people that I enjoy being around, so ... [He reaches over to pick up a small black box and pops the lid off of it, revealing the candy inside.]

Who wants some chocolate? [A soft laugh follows shortly after his inquiry as he replaces the lid and clutches the box to his chest, smile somehow broadening.]

I'm more than willing to deliver it, too.

[Technically, he's already met Lady Hawke, but he never got a chance to find out what her name was.

He raises a hand to his chin, humming in contemplation then perking up, the end of his tail dipping around to take hold of the TAB so he can gesture with both of his hands around his face.]

What does she look like?

Dark hair, piercing blue eyes. Looks like she might want to kill you or anyone else. Sneezes a lot if cats are around too. Shit, what else... Pretty damn bony, so if you've ever taken a sharp elbow, that might've been her.

[There was a clear fondness in Varric's voice as he spoke, and a soft smile that drifted over his lips. Right here was his second favorite thing to talk about, coming in right behind himself -- Hawke.]

Hmmm ... [He adjusts his position, propping his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands, a grin of his own appearing at the warmth he can see radiating off of Varric as he speaks about Hawke.

Dark hair and blue eyes ... Wait a minute-- Kurt jolts with realization, mouth falling open in surprise.] I have met her! She talked to me over the network when I was small - back when I had gotten sick.

[The pleasant smile stretched into an all out grin. Good, someone who knew exactly who he was talking about. Made it far easier to spread the gospel of Marian Hawke. She was certain to be pleased.]

[Except not really.]

I absolutely agree!

[They may not have gotten to talk long, but what they exchanged was good and Marian had helped him perk up at the time.

If she and Varric are friends, he'll have to make more of an effort to speak to her again. He likes Varric, so he's almost positive that he'd enjoy talking to Marian, too.]

[Hopefully he actually will. Unfortunately, Hawke lacked the grace and charm of Varric. It was endearing, but only in a thick-skinned sort of way. Mileage tended to vary, when it came to making friends with Hawke.]

Just don't be put off if she sasses you too much, alright? It's how she says hello. And goodbye. And... basically everything, really.

[When Kurt says he'll do something, it's unlikely that he will go back on his word; it might take him a while to do whatever it is he's said, but one can be sure that he won't forget.

He snickers at Varric's 'warning,' lifting his shoulders in a partial shrug.] It will take more than a bit of sass to drive me away.

Good to know. You'll fit right in with us. [That gave him a thought though, and he leaned toward his camera a little more.] Tell you what -- next time you have a free evening, we can go out for a drink. How about that?

[Since he wasn't a kid and all, anymore.]

Sehr wunderbar! I'll be looking forward to easing into the group. [He's a bit taken aback at the offer, considering he's not exactly of age to be drinking, but ...

He doesn't want to seem rude, that's for sure. Besides, it's a drink - what harm could come from that?] I would like that, Varric.

[As far as Varric was concerned, anyone that could walk and talk could also drink. Thedas wasn't exactly a drinking age kind of place. At least not in Varric's opinion. If the blight, a darkspawn, or a bandit could kill you at any given moment, then you were allowed to drink at any moment.]

Sounds like a plan, then. I'll work on convincing Hawke to come out and join us.

[That's certainly an excuse to drink, no matter how old you might be. Besides, Kurt should be able to guess what his cut-off point might be and as long as he knows not to go past that, he should be fine.]

Ach, that would be perfect! What better way to get to know each other than having a drink and chatting?

[Unfortunately, Varric wasn't exactly good at knowing other people's limits. Kurt was likely to end up drunk on a sidewalk, and the dwarf would have to guide him home. Not that he wasn't used to it, considering who he kept as company.]

That's what I was thinking, kid. Can't go wrong with a drink.

[As long as he doesn't end up sleeping on said sidewalk, Kurt should be absolutely fine with being a little over the limit. Not getting sick would also be a plus, though.]

Should I message you the next time I have a free evening?

[No need to worry about that then, Varric would carry him home. Or at least would try. Call for backup, if he needed.]

Absolutely. You have my TAB listed now, I'm sure. Just send me a call whenever you have a moment. Hawke'll be easy enough to draw out.

[Backup wouldn't be the worst idea, but Kurt will do his best to at least be able to walk.]

I do, ja. As soon as I get things settled with my teachers and finish with a few other miscellaneous things, I'll give you a call!

[What a good kid.]
