Now that we're getting all cozy and settled in here, it has occurred to me that I'm without some of my kit from back home, and I'm starting to feel a little naked without it.

I'm thinking of doing a little DIY to rectify that, so if anyone would be a dear and is willing to part with:

- windshield wipers
- hose clamps
- old brassieres (underwire only)
- a propane torch
- pliers
- a grinder

I'd be grateful and maybe even inclined to owe you a favour.

[He glances down at the nearly finished rake and back at her with a pang of ... something. She's an alright girl, the kind who shouldn't have gone poking her nose into the business that blew up in her face.

He drags his thumb over his handiwork, feeling for rough edges where they shouldn't be, and sanding them off.]

[ It's such a shame that they never got off on a good foot at the start of everything, until now. She'd had her reasons. This just wasn't something she'd expected. ]

[ But all of that will change, when they go home. ]

[He gives the rake one last check. Smooth. Reasonably sturdy. It's been years, but he hasn't lost his touch. Not bad for a first draft.]

[He slides his handiwork across the table toward Elena.]

Elena hesitates before reaching to accept the gift, half wondering what comes with it. What his motives are. ]
