Now that we're getting all cozy and settled in here, it has occurred to me that I'm without some of my kit from back home, and I'm starting to feel a little naked without it.
I'm thinking of doing a little DIY to rectify that, so if anyone would be a dear and is willing to part with:
- windshield wipers
- hose clamps
- old brassieres (underwire only)
- a propane torch
- pliers
- a grinder
I'd be grateful and maybe even inclined to owe you a favour.
EDIT:
A GUN WOULD BE NICE TOO :)))

[He glances up from his work briefly to look her in the eye.]
It's a lockpick.
[He gets back to work with a pair of wire cutters, measuring out a length of underwire and snapping it free. Beside him he's got various pliers and files.]

[ Both her tone and the look she gives him back are deadpan. Somehow, Elena should not be surprised. ]
no subject
[He says it without any shame and perhaps a hint of glee.]
They're a useful thing to have in general, you never know when you might need 'em.
no subject
[ But Elena knows what he's referring to. Lockpicks. They come in real handy. Thing is...she's never needed one. ]
There aren't any shady vendors around that can get scrap metal from?
no subject
Much easier to seek out common household objects, like the humble brassiere.
[He twirls he bit of metal he's holding for emphasis and then uses it to measure out a matching length of wire, and shears it off.]
no subject
[ Mumbled as she shakes her head, cutting into the fabric to tug out another wire. It's passed across. On to the second bra. ]
You know, didn't think I'd ever be sitting in a hole in the wall with you of all people, drinking, having a hand in your petty thievery.
no subject
haha. tit]Two words, love: deft fingers.
[Speaking of that, he takes a clamp and starts bending the pieces into shape, working with the speed and certainty of a well-practiced hand.]
I imagine me having died would make that rather unimaginable, yeah.

[ Her eyes lift from her work to watch him. He's must've made a lot of lockpicks in his time. What a life he'd led. ]
Just a bit... But I mean more it's a lot different from our first meeting here. Speaking of which, how's the nose?
no subject
[He holds the pieces together with one hand and reaches for a file with the other, and starts sanding an angle into them, pausing every once in a while to hold them up to the light to check his work.]

[ Adrien can be a chatty fellow.
She continues to watch and takes the moment to enjoy her beer. It isn't bad, as far as foreign alcohol goes.
Her work resumes after the moment is over, gaze drifting back down to her lap, away from his hands, her turn to play and wrestle with a razor and underwire. ]
no subject
Very cunning of you, by the by.
[He keeps sanding, not quite satisfied with the angle he's made.]
no subject
I did nothing, I don't know what you're talking about.
no subject
[Two brow arches in return.]
no subject
[ She picks at the edge of the fabric with the blade, an idle sort of picking. ]
Frankly, if I were you, which I'm glad I'm not, I wouldn't do anything to piss him off.
no subject
[The warning she gives is intimately familiar to him, it's not far off from the way he taunted Drake over how he should have stayed in prison. Zoran was a real piece of shit but the feeling that he would wreck Drake's shit and he could safely watch from the other side?
It was good.]

Adrien is nothing like Lazarevic. Lazarevic brought a whole new meaning to the title 'monster'.
[ No way would she stand by and listen to this scum talk down on someone she so valued as a close friend. She'd already lost Jeff (rip) while he was alive, she wouldn't lose anyone else. ]
no subject
Well I must've caught him on a bad day, then.
no subject
[ Smirk away, Flynn. She goes back to her task at hand, wire wedged out. ]
There was actually an incident, with the left over shrapnel.
no subject
Alright, alright I suppose I follow that—but you are quite capable of taking care of your own business, yeah? You did break my nose.
no subject
For the record, I broke it twice. Twice.
Here.
[ Aw yeah, progress. Elena slides the wire over and grabs up her drink. ]
no subject
[He reaches for it and sets it aside as fodder for future tools. He picks up the two pieces he's been working on, pinches them between his fingers with one hand and picks up his file with the other.]
Now this bit is important. Going to make three little valleys on one of these, but just one on the other, and they need to match.
no subject
[ With the other bra set on her lap, one more wire to go in the second, they're momentarily forgotten in favor of watching him work, her drink cradled in both hands. Deciding it'll get her a better view, she leans forward.
This could one day come in handy. ]
They're easily bendable, these bra wires, but do they break as easy as real lockpicks?
no subject
[He bites his lower lip and focuses on sanding out matching valleys on the picks. He nicks his own finger with the file, curses under his breath, and takes another drink before getting to work again.]
no subject
[ It gives her a chance to lift her eyes and watch his expression while he works, studying him while she has the opportunity. There's never been one. But Elena realizes she's too stuck on watching him that she clears her throat and keeps sipping her beer. ]
no subject
Something on your mind, darling?
[He doesn't look up, remaining focused on his craft.]
