Now that we're getting all cozy and settled in here, it has occurred to me that I'm without some of my kit from back home, and I'm starting to feel a little naked without it.

I'm thinking of doing a little DIY to rectify that, so if anyone would be a dear and is willing to part with:

- windshield wipers
- hose clamps
- old brassieres (underwire only)
- a propane torch
- pliers
- a grinder

I'd be grateful and maybe even inclined to owe you a favour.

[About a minute later, he's sent her a more precise location and an unintentionally blurry selfie of himself out front]

[ She doesn't answer him but she uses the information and image to make her way there, showing up minutes later.

Oh. There he is.

Slow, deep breath. This is the first time she's speaking in person with him since the very first day he'd arrived. She doesn't have Nate here and he doesn't know she's here. ]

[She's smaller than he remembers, somehow. He dwarfs most people, but it's particularly striking just how tiny she is in person. Perhaps it's the memory of that right hook that makes her feel taller in his mind. He returns her greeting with a nod.]

[ A small, brief smile. It's true, she wouldn't have found the place without his directions.

Her eyes lift up to his; it's not as scary, the two of them, meeting alone. He isn't as intimidating. ]
