video ;; action for Lion House
So... what'd I miss?
[What's up TAB network, it's your friendly neighborhood spaceman out of hospital after a disaster mission to that hellscape planet. Looking halfway decent -- surely those circles under his eyes are normal and, you know, right arm in a sling is fine. Totally okay.]
[Managing the TAB is a little difficult since he's got a bag full of armor slung over his good shoulder but oops. Oh well.]
Anything I need to get updated on? New faces or issues?
[On his feet and already trying to leap back into work. Good going buddy.]
For anyone I've missed, I'm Shiro -- and if anyone out there knows the name "Voltron", let me know.
[Because if Hunk showed up while he was out, others might have too.]
[After making that little announcement, he'all continue on to the Lion House in the 5th district. And probably stand in the front walk for a minute to brace himself before marching on inside.]

[This is where he'd drink coffee if he had any. So instead, he's just arching an eyebrow.]
I hear white is decent. That's what you get when your hair gets ripped out too hard, by the way.
no subject
...You know, it's good to have you back.
To talk to you.
[Darin sort of...rocks in place.]
I'm just...you know.
I'm glad you're home.
no subject
[And then the teasing sort of falls flat. Remembering what Lucio said...]
Lucio told me you took this really badly. Are you going to be all right?
no subject
[He shifts a bit.]
...I blamed myself. I thought...you know, it figures, right? You finally find someone who accepts you for who and what you are and you go and get him killed. Then you have to go back to his team, his family, and tell them why you're perfectly fine but he's in surgery to save his life.
[His voice cracks.]
You were there. You saw me snap. When I saw you broken and hurt, I was ready to tear Eosoros apart. And now? Now I don't know what I'm more terrified of: losing you or anyone else here, or what I'll do if that ever happens.
no subject
[He doesn't mean to say it like that, like it's a command. But it comes out, anyway. Maybe it's how fresh everything still feels. Or because of how much those words echo the ones he can't silence in his own head.]
[The ones from behind cracked glass and yellow eyes.]
Yeah. I saw it. Yeah, it was something else. And... it was pretty bad. I'm not going to lie to you.
It also wasn't you. Not anymore than this... [And he inclines his head at the metal arm in its sling.] ... is me. It's attached. It's not coming off without rewiring parts of me that shouldn't ever be rewired.
And it's destructive as anything, if I let it. [A shake of his head.] I mean, I'm not pretending it's exactly the same thing, but go with the metaphor here. I'm still pretty tired.
I guess the point is, it's something you have to deal with, but it's not you. And as for the rest?
[He spreads his good arm out.] I'm still here. And I'm not going to just disappear any time soon. So let's worry about that if it happens.
no subject
What was he like...? Diomuhr, I mean. What did he do?
no subject
[To not react to the memory. Overlaid with the last time he'd heard a monologue like that one.]
Reminded me of someone I ran into before. Talked a big game... got taken down with a smack to the back of your head.
So... not that bad.
no subject
[Darin taps at his temple.]
I can hear him now.
Not like...constantly, and not really even always coherently.
It's like...you know how some people complain of ringing in their ears after an explosion? Something that they live with but are still constantly aware of?
It's like that.
HOLY SHIT I FORGOT TO HIT "POST" ON THIS???
And that's not good.
[Yeah no shit. He pauses to absorb most of that, pushing his hand through his hair.]
I've said before. This is way, way out of my league. But with so many different people here, there's got to be someone who has a better idea of what, if anything, we can do.
Maybe it's time to start asking around.
YOU'VE ALREADY FORGOTTEN ME SHIRO HOW COULD YOU
That's the other reason I went back to Eosoros. I figure...if I can get stronger, keep myself...my feelings in check.
I can keep him suppressed.
I'M VERY TIRED
[Says the king of suppressing how he feels.]
Those kinds of things never stay buried as much as you want them to. No matter what you do.
its okay friend lets be tired together
yaaaay

no subject
Yeah.
Yeah, I do.
I don't think I've wanted anything more.
no subject
[Sorry, Darin, that's his kneejerk reaction to hearing that.]
But the rest of it? I think we'll need to talk to someone else for.
I hate to suggest it to you, but... there's always Allura. She's already connected to her mice, so maybe she knows something about blocking or turning down the volume on these kinds of things.
Barring that... we ask around.
no subject
There's no score, dumbass.
But if there was, I'd be winning since I hauled you out of Eosoros.
[He smirks, hoping that this little diversion will distract him from bringing Allura into this.]
no subject
[Yeah no luck bud.]
And that was my own fault.
no subject
So, like, what am I going to have to do to get you to leave some of that guilt at the door, huh?
[Pot meet kettle.]
I get you have...histories...with the Princess and Pidge, but...you don't have to shoulder those burdens with me around. That's what friends do. I may be a part of the team, but I was your friend way before that happened.
no subject
[Calling you on it is what bros do. Right?]
... do you have to say it like that? "Histories"?
no subject
[He leans his chin in his hand.]
It's nicer than "baggage?"
What's wrong with it? I'd kill to have a history with anyone other than my psychopath twin brother.
no subject
... liked seeing change shape.
[A beat.]
I'm not talking about Pidge, here.
no subject
[Then, he calmly stands up, walks back to the fridge with his glass, and pours himself another fresh glass of blue juice.]
[He makes his way back, sits down, and takes a nice...loooooooooong....sip.]
[Only to promptly snap his head away and spit it all out.]
YOU AND THE PRINCESS?!
no subject
[And then it dawns on him. And he's already holding up his hands (sling be damned this is too important.]
No! No, no! I --
I'm saying we aren't -- we never --
Saying 'history' like that makes it sound like we were!
