It occurred to me the other day that I haven't had a chance to write anything, and that's, to me, a little depressing. There's been so much here that's happened, not just to myself and the friends I've made, but to everyone else. To you.

My day job, back home, for those of you who don't know me, it deals with investigative journalism. I write to uncover the truth, to shed light on scenarios that are otherwise dark and bleak.

Since I got here, everything has been nothing but a whirlwind of events. Each month there's been something new; whether it's stopping off at various planets, or it's daily occurrences on the ship. [ RIP Moira. ] There hasn't been time for me to sit down and write it all out.

[ Elena pauses and her eyes drift downward, off to the left. For those who knew about the incident with the Descendants, how she'd walked away from that moment on the ship with her left arm broken and bleeding out where it'd bitten her...she no longer wears a splint and padded cast. There's no visible sling. It's almost as though none of that had ever happened.

An injury as deep as that, bones needed time to mend. They needed a full two months. It's been less than that.

It shows that she's trying to think of how to word what she wants to say next, without giving anything away. ]

I'm interested in writing about abilities. [ Here she looks up, looks directly into the TAB camera. ] I'm interested in learning about them.

Well then. My name is Charles Xavier. There, you've met your first telepath. And, in this case, mutant and telepath are not mutually exclusive.

You're a telepath..? As a telepath, what exactly can you do...? Are you able to read minds..?

They're not..?

[ This guy looks oddly a lot like Adrien... ]

I am. I can read minds and communicate through thought, the recipient doesn't need the power as well, remove memories or recover them. I can also alter the perception of those around me, for example, make it that someone can't see me standing right in front of them. Or freeze people in a moment, they wouldn't even be aware, as well as induce sleep, or just control someone.

[He's stupidly powerful, in other words.] And I have these abilities because I'm a mutant.

[tearsinajar]

So when I'm having trouble falling asleep and a sleeping pill doesn't help, I should come see you?

[ He does sound stupidly powerful. He sounds like the kind of guy no one should want to mess around with.

Elena gestures to her temple through the feed, a circular motion. ]

When you do all of that, is there a specific radius?

[notthemaniwas]

If you'd like and only if you'd be comfortable with the idea.

[Not usually and he's not afraid to use some of that power to keep people safe now.]

There is. I can't reach a global scale without aid. I had a machine for that.

[tearsinajar]

I'm not going to be comfortable with it unless we try, and I'm more than willing to try.

A machine? Did it amplify what you already have, as a power?

[notthemaniwas]

So long as you're willing.

[He prefers permission.]

It amplified brainwaves, so it amplified my abilities, yes.

I'm willing to do just about everything.

[ Which means yes, she'll give him permission when that time comes. ]

Does it feel like, being without it here, that it's almost like you're a sitting duck? Did you have to rely on it much back home?

[notthemaniwas]

All right.

[He gives her a reassuring smile.]

Not really. I only ever used it to search the world for students for the school or to search for my sister.

[tearsinajar]

[ His sister... ]

She had the same gift as you did?

[notthemaniwas]

No, she's able to shaepshift. But cerebro amplified my brainwaves enough that I could connect to anyone, everyone, in the world at the same time. So I could find her.

[tearsinajar]

A shapeshifter? Wow. Never thought I'd live to hear about that being a reality. You've had no luck here in finding her?

[notthemaniwas]

None but I admit, I don't look as deeply or as often as I could. It isn't easy when she can be anyone.
