[ Ever since he'd arrived, Bull's first thought had been that he'd stepped through an Eluvian. That was preposterous, there hadn't been a single one in sight in the great hall of Skyhold. There wasn't one here, either. It was what had made the most sense– go from one realm to another without so much as blinking. Enjoy a bit of a tickle and tug at the midsection. ]
Figure talking to this little guy is better than trying to type something out. [ Or that was the gist of the explanation he'd gotten when a kind crew member had given him a quick rundown of the device. Though, Bull could really do without this so-called TAB. ] Most of you probably have yet to see the size of my hands. I would be writing in a whole new language within the first two letters.
It wouldn't be pretty.
[ This giant looking horned man shouldn't need to show his hands as proof, he practically filled the entire screen, hunkered forward just to be sure he can be made out. He gave a smirking grin and cocked his head to the right. ]
So... Aside from what I've been hearing around camp, there should be more dirt to dish with what's been going on. Who's got it? I've got a few jars I could fill. [ Shame those jars couldn't be filled with bees. ] And one last thing– anyone seen or heard from a witch? She goes by the name of Morrigan.
This whole thing reeks of her.

Compression bandages. I live an exciting life.

[ Sounds so exciting. ]

It's true, I'm one of the ship's ... err, well now it's just the crew. So I'm one of the physicians on the crew. I don't call myself a healer.
[ 'Healer' was a term he applied to people like Amette, Angela, Alva. The physicians with the gentle bedside manner and nurturing souls.
In Adrien's mind, when you could put the slaughter of numerous species and destruction of planets on your resume, you lost the right to use the term 'healer'. ]

[ Tomato tomahtoe, Adrien. ]
Who else of the crew is considered a physician?
no subject
The three physicians in the crew are myself, Angela Ziegler, and Alva Varren. We also have field medics, technicians and physicians' aids.
no subject
How long you been doing this healing thing?
no subject
The breath left him on an exhale and he set down the bandage he was counting and turned to make a mark and hold is place. Then he turned back to the TAB and leaned down towards it. ]
Look. Did you want to talk about our situation here and now? Because I don't do small talk, absolutely rubbish at it.
no subject
[ Rising up from where he's been sitting this whole time he looks away from his TAB for a moment. ]
You said you fix things. Tell me where to find you, maybe you can sort something out for me while we chat.
no subject
It's the largest tent just off to the side of where the majority of the crew has been bedding down.
no subject
[ He was on the move, TAB lowered to briefly show the ankle brace at his left foot, the near drag of the great-axe fused with his hand. ]
Five minutes. I'll see you.
no subject
Though he did glance over at the TAB in time to see the ankle brace and ....
Wait. Whut?
One dark brow went from furrowed in a frown to arching upwards as he considered the implication of what he'd seen. He didn't say anything. He figured he'd get more details in five minutes.
As promised, the tent was where he described. The interior was relatively quiet, only a few people milling about and the doctor was fairly easy to spot. Standing by a cabinet, he was sorting through the contents, surfacing now and then to make a note on a data pad. Near his feet lay a sleek creature, brilliant, luminescent scales spread across a feline body with a heavy blue mane. Colorful ears flicked towards the man, lazily listening to the doctor mutter but otherwise unperturbed. ]
action;
He knew what Adrien looked like from the feed earlier but that didn't stop him from taking a moment to stand there and look around, take the new surroundings in.
His axe arm came up so he could prop the weapon against his shoulder. Wouldn't do the good doctor any good to catch it on a cot or a prepped portable set of drawers. ]
Nice set up you got in here.
no subject
[ Adrien responded without looking up. Though as the words left his mouth, he glanced over quickly and then back down at his data pad, only to immediately perform a classic double take.
It wasn't that he hadn't met tall beings before. The Cybertronians, after all, were quite huge and there had been others. It wasn't even the horns; he'd experienced them also. But height, plus horns, plus ...
Though he didn't smile, both eyebrows shot into his hairline and the doctor slowly set the data pad down on the counter, using feel rather than looking away as he inquired. ]
Do you normally have an battle axe for a hand? [ The words just came blurting out before his brain to mouth filter had an opportunity to check them. ]
no subject
Never for a hand, but there's usually one in my hand. When I'm fighting.
[ A pause and Bull tilted his head to the side. ]
It might help for you to blink. Do you want to touch it, is that it?
no subject
...
Fucking Ingress.
At the question, he looked vaguely thoughtful for a moment, before shaking his head. ]
No.
[ Grabbing an arm full of the compression bandages he'd been working on, he turned and started towards a crate just off to the side. As he passed a second crate, he nodded towards it. ]
You can sit there if you like. I suspect you'd obliterate any of the cots, but that crate should hold your weight.
no subject
[ Bull looked over to where the other man had nodded. Gosh, that crate doesn't look any better. If he sat his heavy qunari ass down delicately, he might have a chance.
...
Okay, he was seated. Carefully. ]
For the record, my hand, let's try to keep it intact.
no subject
Speaking of which, at least Bull got a show with his waiting room.
Surfacing the doctor looked over at the qunari, brows tucked together as he frowned. ]
What would we be doing that wouldn't keep it intact? [ He asked, finally dusting off his hands and walking over towards Bull to peer at the situation a little more closely. ] I'm assuming that happened when you came through the Ingress, yes?
no subject
[ He shifted on the crate and eased the weapon from his shoulder again, arm lowering so he could rest it over his thighs and show where his fingers seemed to meld into the leather wrapped handle. ]
You tell me what we're going to do about this— without losing my hand. And looks that way. Wasn't like this before I got here. Not unless the redhead dancing on my lap had anything to do with it.
no subject
His grip was firm and calloused, enough to suggest those hands did more than just doctoring, as he took the limb. However, despite the masculine size of his own fingers, they barely cleared the circumference of Bull's wrist.
As Bull continued to talk, the doctor glanced up at him briefly before snorting inwardly. What was it with this crew and redheads? ]
Then I'm going to diagnose the Ingress, which unfortunately means there isn't anything I can do about this, unless you're prepared to lose a layer of skin.
no subject
[ Bull doesn't need to point at his eye, doesn't need to point to the missing finger bits of his left hand. ]
Gotta ask though, you're talking about one layer, right? Or are we talking three? Maybe four?
no subject
[ He said, walking over to another crate and rummaging around until he surfaced with a small pen light. Coming back to where Bull sat, the doctor dropped gracefully into a balanced crouch by the qunari's leg, taking his wrist once again.
Adrien navigated his way around the axe with a certain ease that suggested he was either used to people with deadly weapons strapped to their hands or he was just used to deadly weapons. Other than that, he used the light to get a clear and up close look at the situation. He never smiled, though his expression underwent a couple different grimaces as he made his examination. ]
Two at least. That's assuming that once I began to cut, it actually came loose and isn't somehow fused down into muscle or bone. [ It wasn't exactly surgery he wanted to perform, but if really was just the flesh involved, it ... could be feasible.
Clicking off the light and releasing Bull's wrist, the doctor looked up at him. ]
That or, in my experience, these matters have historically reversed themselves after a period of time. You could wait it out.
no subject
[ Bull watched him move about, tracking him with his one eye and not moving his head. It was as he crouched down next to him that his head tipped forward. He said nothing as the doctor checked him over and made his doctorly assessment. ]
How long? Weeks? Months? Days?
[ If he were ever that lucky. ]
no subject
I've seen the Ingress do something similar in the past. It lasted for weeks and there was no indication that it would end.
[ Memories of friends in cryo and the aching feeling of utter helplessness were sharp, as he faced the same damn challenge now, but he carefully kept that off his face. ]
