[There is a really, really unpleasant banging noise, like someone's thwacking their tab against a rock because (surprise) that's exactly what this particular someone is doing. A feminine, Australian accented voice cuts in after a while.]
-would have been nice if they’d given us a bloody crash course in how to use these things. How do you even-
[There is jarring sound of static and then a burst of distortion as a finger jabs at the TAB]
-tell-
[Another jab and more distortion.]
-if it’s-
[One more jab and for some strange reason, the image feed is flipped upside down and everything is strangely… purple.]
-working?
[There’s a sigh, and then coming through the upside down, purple video feed there’s a woman with dark hair looking quizzically at the TAB with a furrowed brow until she sighs.]
Some week this is shaping out to be.
[She jabs at the tab again, and while the feed returns to right side up, it’s still conspicuously purple.]
Okay. I don’t get it. Never did go in much for the whole sci-fi thing. First person to tell me where I can get a beer and a back rub in that order is my new space best friend. Name’s Chloe by the way. Chloe Frazer.
[She squints at the tab and then rolls her eyes.]
Shit, did I break it? Fantastic...
[ooc: backdated to during week two!]

[Seriously Rafe, you need to give her the name of your moisturiser.]
The only thing more boring than golf is watching other people play golf, so I can totally understand that line of thinking.
[What she can't understand is how Nate would know him, how they'd wind up looking for Avery's - Henry Avery?- treasure together and how in the world, over the course of that, a Drake would lose his life.
They're pretty damn near impossible to kill if Nate's anything to go by.]
So treasure hunting's your hobby. Save some for the rest of us Rafe, some of us could do with the money.

[He likes to wash his face and moisturize in the morning and night okay. It's expensive lotion, are you sure you want to know.]
You don't know the half of it. Just imagine business meetings consisting of your father and a handful of other old men. Having the time of their life golfing while you try not to fall asleep standing up.
[This is his life. It's so hard.]
Heh, oh don't worry, there's plenty for everyone. Not that I do it for money.

[She tilts her head to one side and looks at him quizzically.]
So what do you go after treasure for? History lover, art historian? Or did you just really, really love playing at Indiana Jones when you were growing up in that big house in the Hamptons?

[Rafe shrugs a little.]
A little bit of everything I suppose. There's just something about going out and finding something that's been long lost to the whole world. Being able to dig it up out of the ground or find it hidden away in some nondescript box in the middle of a jungle. Really feel like you've got history in your hands, you know?
I mean sure buying a piece of history from some collector might give others that same satisfaction, but I like getting my hands dirty. I like people knowing I found it.
[Recognition. Something beyond being the inheritor of his family's business and money.]
... and I mean maybe a little bit of Indiana Jones.
