There was a lot of different electronics of various stages of advancement on the ship. Many of them given as rewards for good service, but there was a considerable stockpile of items.

Some sort of emergency beacon. Even just a light signal of some sort that could be seen from a distance would be useful.

personally i'd rather it be more subtle instead of creating a giant beacon for nasty beasts but i'll see what i can come up with
