[ 'What happens to them when you agree to the contract? Where do they go?' ― extra questions she bites her tongue on. Instead Chloe gives a smile that's barely a twitch of her lips. ]

I was a parent. [Although she died before coming here.] But, time is not linear here. My daughter did arrive, or rather was here before my own arrival, but she was grown. Close in age to myself.

I suppose you mean younger children in this instance though.

[ Chloe squints down at her MID when the woman appears. Natalie... Portman...? Her squint gets squintier. She's pretty in character― they are on a ship after all. In space.

[ Chloe's a little confused about the Senator's daughter having a son. Did that really happen? Why is she even thinking about it? Now isn't the time to try and piece storylines together. ]

Her name is Trixie. It's a nickname we called her since she was little. Beatrice is her real name.

[Or a lot, but she has adjusted surprisingly well to everything.]

My husband has apparently been here for some time before my own arrival, and I never once noticed he was missing, nor did he ever mention it.

So you're saying your husband was with you but he was also...here?

[ That didn't make any sense. Chloe was no expert on how this stuff worked, she was just an LAPD homicide detective. ]

I am. The events that he recalls have happened to me a while ago. And he has been here for some time before my arrival.

[It makes as much sense as people coming back to life, which is what Padmé has done here.]
