Hello, Moira crew. [Behind the screen she winces. Even she can tell that sounds awkward. But she presses on.] I’m new to this ship, but not new to space travel - trust me - but I am trying to gather some more information than what was given to me. Hoping someone onboard can help me out.

[There’s another hesitant moment before the typing resumes.] I can help out with any tech stuff in exchange for any useful information you’ve got. I’m good at it, and I’ve worked with alien tech before. The stuff here is new to me, but they gave me a job that works with it pretty closely, so I’m pretty sure I can figure it out soon enough. So: you help me, I help you. Fair, right?

nah, i like skateboarding and chess club.

besides, my dad sort of gave up on space stuff after i was born.

ya, to help my mom raise me and my sister. to provide for the family and all that.

ya he is. what about your family? you said they're space explorers too?

yeah. my dad went out to different parts of the solar system for research. my brother went on a few missions with him, but he was still pretty new to it.

that's really cool. and now you carry on the tradition?

more or less, yeah

yeah, I think he would be. though I haven't seen him in a while

well. let me just tell you that wherever he is, he's thinking of you. i know he is, because my dad was gone for a long time and i only just got him home. and the whole time he was away, he was thinking of us and trying to get home. so don't give up hope. you'll see him again.

[Oh no. Pidge was definitely not expecting to hear something like that.]
