[Thanks to a gorgeous, no-nonsense brunette he'd stumbled across in the hospital section of the ship, Jimmy's got the basics down for the MIDs. It'd taken him a couple tries, but you live and you learn and you sometimes fuck up. A few taps, quite a few considering the state of his prosthetic, and his face pops up on the network - curly hair styled, and a wide grin for anyone and everyone.]

Friends, the name's Jimmy. Jimmy Darling.

[He's not looking for a tour guide. He's not looking for someone to explain all these shiny metal machines or how he got to be up in the stars. No, Jimmy's looking for something else.]

Anyone from the 1950's? Heard that people round here are from all over the place. I need someone from back then to catch me up on some local news.

[Jimmy's wrapped his head around the fact that people come from different times, but alternate universes - well, that's going to take a minute.]

So if any of you good lookin' folks can point me in the right direction, i'd be mighty grateful.

[A wink. The feed ends.]

No, I'm afraid not. I'm from London, and only really traveled once the war started, and that was mostly Europe. I was living in New York before this, but that's as much of America as I've seen.

[She does feel bad that she doesn't know. She knows that feeling, that desperation to have one little thing to connect you to home.]

Still, I know it's frustrating when people don't know where you're from.

[She was lucky to have Steve and Bucky here, but even that was different. Both were nearly seventy years in her future. Sure, they started out in the same time as her, but so much had changed.]

The Second World War. [...She's running with the base assumption that if he's from a version of America, his world would have had the same conflict as hers.]
